A new pairing to try out!

Silver Hatchetfish (Gasteropelecus sternicla) and Redfin Penguin Tetras (Thayeria sp. ‘Redfin’) are both peaceful, schooling fish that grow to about 3 inches. And they aren’t too picky when it comes to feeding!

The Freshwater Moray Eel! (Gymnothorax polyuranodon)

These eels are one of about 200 species in the Moray family but have the unique trait of being fully freshwater after their juvenile state. They grow to an average of 3 feet long and are masters at escaping tanks, so make sure they are kept with an escape-proof setup!

They naturally prey on small crustaceans and fish smaller than themselves, so, if being kept with tank mates, make sure the tank mates are larger than the eel. They can be trained to eat frozen foods, but generally are finicky if the food isn’t live.

Gold Australe Killifish love being curious!

This species is Aphyosemion australe var. ‘Gold’. They grow to about 2 inches and live for about 3 years, but their color more than makes up for their shorter lifespan! They have a tendency to be nippy, so they do best in a tank with faster swimmers or semi-aggressive creatures.
