What a beautiful day to start off our horse show season! We came out with the focus on just seeing where each horse/rider combo was at coming out of a rough winter with limited saddle time. These girls really pushed today! We now know where their points of opportunity are but overall they did great!!! Congratulations riders!!

The ranch will be closed to any incoming or outgoing horses for the next two weeks while we follow this reported case closely. 

Equine herpesvirus (EHV) is a family of equine viruses named by numbers including EHV-1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 with EHV-1,3,4 posing the most risk for domestic horses. EHV is a common DNA virus that occurs in horse populations worldwide. The two most common species are EHV-1 and EHV-4.

Started morning feeding at 7:45am…finished at 2:15pm. All boarders horses are good. A few shivering ranch horses received second blankets. Everyone eating hay and drinking water.

We are blessed at the ranch with wonderful boarders and volunteers. Everyone is always willing to lend a hand to help!
April (our resident cat whisperer) is giving our barn cat, Taco, some extra attention on his injured foot and Aubrey has been working diligently with one of our rescue horses and has gotten her to the point of ground driving in the arena.
Thank you to everyone who helps make a difference everyday! The horses (and Jen) greatly appreciate all of you!

There’s a lot of beautiful things at Christmas…but to a horse girl…there’s not much prettier than a freshly drug arena!!
