You don’t shape a horse in one ride.

You ask for a little, notice where he gets unsure, and help him find his way through it. Then you come back and do it again.

Some days the change is easy to see. Other days it’s one softer step or a moment when he waits and thinks instead of reacting. Those moments matter.

Give him a clear place to go and the time to understand it. That’s how you build a horse you can trust.

You don’t shape a horse by forcing him into a position. You shape him by helping him understand where to put his feet.

I’m looking for one honest try. Maybe the shoulder moves over a step. Maybe the hip follows without rushing. When he finds that answer, I release and give him a chance to think about it.

Those small moments add up. Stay clear, stay patient, and let the horse learn his way into a better response.

What’s one small change you’ve felt in your horse lately?

Horses & people
So many things in common when we compare our relationship with Christ and a horse who becomes soft and moldable in the Potters hands 🙏🏼

Sometimes you need someone to help you see what you can’t see yet.

That’s part of becoming a horseman.

You can ride more. Watch more videos. Try more exercises.

But sometimes what changes everything is having someone watch you and your horse and help you recognize the little things you’re missing.

Your timing.
Your feel.
Where the feet are going.
When to ask.
When to release.
And when to simply wait.

That’s what our coaching is about.

Not just telling you how to fix your horse—but helping you become a better horseman.

If you’re ready to stop guessing and start understanding what’s happening between you and your horse, we’d love to coach you through it.

Grow the horseman, and you’ll change the horse.

Are you consistent enough for your horse to trust the answer?

One day we correct something.
The next day we let it slide.

One ride we’re patient.
The next ride we’re frustrated.

And then we wonder why the horse seems unsure.

A horse learns from the consistency of our responses.

If the answer keeps changing, he has to keep guessing.

Growing as a horseman means learning to be steady—especially when things aren’t going right.

Same expectations.
Clear boundaries.
Fair correction.
Consistent release.

Your horse doesn’t need you to be perfect.

He needs you to be clear enough and consistent enough that he can find the right answer.

You may be riding what you expect instead of what you feel.

It’s easy to get on with a plan.

Today we’re going to work on this.
Today we’re going to accomplish that.

But a horseman has to be willing to change the plan based on the horse underneath him.

What are his feet telling you?

Where is his mind?

Is he understanding—or are you simply pushing through?

The more you learn to feel what’s happening instead of forcing what you expected, the better horseman you become.

Sometimes progress means accomplishing less today so you can accomplish more tomorrow.
