It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our friend, volunteer, and fellow animal lover, Tovah Mauermann.

Tovah had recently begun her freshman year at UW-Platteville, studying Animal Science and Ag Business. She had a tremendous love for animals and dreamed of one day opening a rescue of her own. During her senior year of high school, she also volunteered behind the scenes with Rey of Hope, helping us launch our TikTok account.

To honor Tovah’s passion for animals, her family chose Rey of Hope as one of the organizations to receive memorial donations. We are deeply touched by the generosity of her family, friends, and loved ones who have donated in her memory.

Although Tovah’s life was far too short, her dream of helping animals will continue to make a difference through the lives touched in her honor.

Our hearts are with everyone who knew and loved Tovah. We are grateful to have been a small part of her story and honored to help carry her love for animals forward.

Long timer, Jade is still waiting for her forever home. Please share to help her get adopted soon! JADE IS A QUIRKY, ENERGETIC, LOVEABLE DOG SEEKING A ZEN HOME💕 She is 10-months old, 33 lbs mixed breed. She is playful, bold and intelligent!

Jade loves spending time with her foster family. She is very active, but also loves quiet time in the evenings and puts herself to bed around 9pm. Jade is crate trained and is working on basic commands. She needs a fenced in back yard with space to run and play fetch.

Jade’s new family should be confident dog owners prepared to implement a training plan. 💚 She is smart, trainable and eager to please. Jade is working on excitability and manners and she is best matched in an aged 13+ home.

Jade experiences occasional urinary oopsie moments when she is dysregulated. Her foster family says this is a manageable behavior and they will share tips with adopter. We are hopeful that she will outgrow this behavior since she is still very young, but she still needs a family that is committed to loving her no matter the challenge.

Jade lives with dogs in her foster home. She would do fine as an only pet or paired with a submissive dog that lets her take the lead. She also lives with savvy cats, but she does need gentle reminders not to pester them.

Jade is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and on monthly preventatives.

Are you looking for a gem?? Toffee is your girl! She is a Great Pyrenees mix who weighs 65 pounds at barely a year old. She has such a kindhearted personality, and her tendency to be a little clueless sometimes only makes us love her more.

While she still enjoys exercise and playtime, Toffee is surprisingly low energy for her age. She loves taking her sweet time on walks, stopping along the way to watch the world around her. But don’t let that fool you. She’s still a puppy and can certainly find herself in a little mischief from time to time!

She’s made great progress with potty training in just a few weeks and continues to improve. When she first arrived at Rey of Hope, she needed a couple of weeks to decompress and learn that she could trust the people around her. Once she felt safe and comfortable, her bubbly personality started to shine.

She’s now a happy, wiggly girl who is just as gentle and sweet as ever. Toffee is very submissive with her doggy pals and is phenomenal with cats. She has really thrived having other dogs in her foster home to look to for guidance and confidence. Because of that, Toffee will require another confident dog in her forever home. Toffee is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and on monthly preventatives.

Oreo is about a 1 year old mama who is devoted to her children. While young, she is mature for her age. She has the best manners with the litter box, loves her time alone, but also loves to snuggle into you.

She is also a talker and will tell you if she wants more food😆 Fun fact, she also like to be held like a baby when snuggled. With a chill but loving personality she’d make an amazing addition to any household.
