Join the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA), Urban Stables , and for a special Veteran Meet & Greet focused on creativity, connection, and gratitude. Community members, veterans, and supporters are invited to come together to create handmade Valentine’s Day cards for veterans living in WDVA facilities, with Donna Lexa Art Centers leading the artistic portion of the evening and guiding participants through the creative process.
Since launching this initiative in 2023, WDVA has received over 80,000 Valentine’s Day cards, spreading joy to veterans at the Wisconsin Veterans Homes in Chippewa Falls, King, and Union Grove, as well as to 80,000 participants in the Veterans Housing and Recovery Program. ❤️

We hope all of our Veteran neighbors will join us at Veterans Fall Fest tomorrow from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at MKE Urban Stables!

This free event, hosted by MKE Urban Stables and the SE Wisconsin Veteran Su***de Prevention Task Force, features Veteran resources and exhibitors, horse grooming and meet-and-greets, a Milwaukee PD Mounted Patrol demonstration at 11 am, a donkey kissing booth, refreshments, and more!

Happy Veterans Day! We love Veterans here at MKE Urban Stables! Our herd of therapy horses and donkeys (and volunteers and staff) have the honor of serving more than 300 Veterans each year through equine-assisted mental wellness programs, equine-assisted PTSD therapy, equine-assisted recreational therapy, Veteran Meet & Greets, Veteran resource fairs, and more! We are proud to support the mental health and wellness of our Veteran neighbors who have given so much to our nation and its people.

To all our Veteran neighbors, thank you! We are grateful for your service!
