A big win for Milwaukee’s four-legged friends—and for innovative urban placemaking!

Downtown Milwaukee’s dog park beneath I-794 has earned a major award, recognizing how an overlooked space was transformed into a vibrant community destination along the Milwaukee River.

What was once an underutilized site is now a 23,000-square-foot dog park with dedicated areas for large and small dogs, riverfront access, public art, and new pedestrian connections. 🐶

It’s a great example of turning challenging urban spaces into places that bring people—and pets—together.
