September is National Deaf Awareness Month—a time to celebrate Deaf culture, recognize the importance of sign language and promote greater understanding, inclusion and accessibility.

Employment opportunities are not experienced equally across the disability community.

For example, employment rates are significantly higher for people with hearing disabilities than for individuals with self-care difficulties. That gap is a reminder that inclusion requires more than simply creating jobs—it means creating the right support, training and opportunities for people with different needs.

At Ike Center, we believe every person deserves the chance to contribute, build confidence and find purpose through meaningful work.

We’re excited to announce a new partnership with Pure Farms! 🥬❤️

Beginning this fall, Ike Center clients will help package fresh lettuce products grown by Pure Farms, a local hydroponic urban farm. As Ike Center FoodWorks continues to grow, partnerships like this create even more opportunities for our clients to build skills, contribute meaningful work and take pride in what they accomplish.

We recently celebrated this incredible milestone with a cowboy-themed party filled with ice cream, music, games and plenty of smiles. Donald has been a valued part of the Ike Center community for many years, and we were so happy to make his big day extra special.
