UPDATE!! Owner found! This poor dog apparently has an owner who keeps her in the yard and breeds her constantly! This is her FOURTH litter. The lady who found her had no choice but to return her.

🚨 URGENT 🚨 ONE BIG YES COULD SAVE THIS WHOLE LITTLE FAMILY 🚨

PUPPY FOSTER, MILTON FL.

A mama dog and her five puppies were found abandoned beside the road. 💔 Six little lives with nowhere safe to go.

They don’t need anything fancy. They need one safe place where Mama can care for her babies while The Mylo Foundation works everything else.

We’ll be honest — fostering a mama and five puppies is a commitment. There will be puppy messes. There will be work. But there will also be five little babies growing up safe instead of beside a road…and a mama who finally gets to know her family is okay.

Do you have:
A spare room.
A laundry room.
A quiet area of the house.
A little extra space and a really big heart.

You don’t have to save every dog.

But for this little family, you could be the person who saves six. ❤️

🏠 $5 FRIDAY — BOARDING FRIDAY ❤️

Boarding isn’t where we want our rescue dogs to be.

But sometimes, it’s where they HAVE to be.

When a dog is facing euthanasia, has been abandoned, or suddenly has nowhere safe to go, we don’t always have a foster home waiting. Sometimes a boarding space is the only thing standing between that dog and a VERY different ending.

For Mylo, boarding is an emergency lifeline — a safe place to say:

🐾 “You’re safe. We have you. Now we’ll figure out the rest.”

Those boarding bills add up quickly, especially when a dog waits weeks or even months for the right foster or forever home.

So for today’s Friday Fund, we’re asking for just $5 to help keep that lifeline available.

Stop Tethering.

Imagine your entire world being the length of a chain.

The same patch of dirt.
The same tree.
The same few feet.

Day after day.
Summer heat. Thunderstorms. Mosquitoes. Cold nights.

You can see life happening around you — you just can’t be part of it.

For too many dogs, this isn’t a bad day.

It’s their entire life.

A chain may keep a dog on a property, but:

👉 A chain is not a home.
👉 A chain is not responsible ownership.
👉 And a chain should NEVER be a dog’s life sentence.

Santa Rosa County has been working toward a tethering ordinance.

But the dogs are still chained.

We need reasonable, enforceable protections against long-term tethering — and we need our county leaders to move this forward.

We’re asking for something incredibly basic:

Give them more than the length of a chain.

It’s Friday, which means it’s time for $5 Friday at Mylo!

The second Friday of the month is VET CARE FRIDAY — a day to help us tackle one of the biggest ongoing expenses in rescue.

Every dog who comes through Mylo needs basic veterinary care — vaccines, testing, preventatives, spay/neuter and sometimes medications or unexpected treatment.

But rescue doesn’t always end quickly.

Some of our dogs are long-term Mylo dogs who, for one reason or another, haven’t found their forever homes yet. While they wait, they remain our responsibility — and so does their ongoing veterinary care, medications, preventatives and other medical needs.

Those expenses continue month after month.

That’s why today we’re asking for just $5.

Five dollars may not sound like much, but when a community comes together, those $5 donations can turn into vaccines, medications, preventatives and veterinary care for dogs who depend on us.

❤️ A lot of people doing a little can accomplish something BIG.

If you can give more, we’re incredibly grateful.

🚀🐾 A little common sense can make a BIG difference in a dog’s life.

This week’s It’s Not Rocket Science is about something we hear all the time — “My dog has too much energy!”

Before giving up on the dog, try giving that energy somewhere to go. ❤️👇

🚀🐾 IT’S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE: “MY DOG HAS TOO MUCH ENERGY!”

We hear it all the time.

“My dog is too hyper.”
“He won’t settle down.”
“He’s driving me crazy.”
“He’s tearing things up.”

Before deciding there’s something wrong with the dog, ask yourself one question:

What did your dog actually DO today?

🐾 Did he go for a walk?

🎾 Did anyone play with him? Even sitting down and tossing a ball or toy lets HIM do the running!

🧩 Did he get a puzzle, stuffed toy, snuffle mat or treat-finding game? Working their brain can wear dogs out, too!

👃 Did he get a chance to sniff and explore?

🧠 Did anyone spend a few minutes practicing simple commands with him?

❤️ Did he get real interaction with his people?

A backyard doesn’t automatically equal exercise.

Opening the door and saying “go outside” isn’t the same as play, enrichment, exploring or spending time together.

Dogs get bored. And bored dogs find their own entertainment.

Sometimes that entertainment is your couch.
Or your shoes.
Or your trash can.
Or apparently remodeling a wall you never asked them to remodel. 😂

Before you label your dog “too hyper,” “destructive,” or “out of control,” try giving some of that energy somewhere GOOD to go.

Walk them. Toss a ball. Give them a puzzle. Let them sniff. Work their brain. Spend time with them.

You don’t have to run a marathon with your dog.

Sometimes you just have to give them something to DO.

🚀 It’s not rocket science. It’s dog ownership.
