Our Shelter “staff” is made up of almost all volunteers. We lost one of our longest standing volunteers this week. Stan Dworkin was the founder of Stan’s cans, the donation cans that you see in many Milton businesses and even some in Quincy and Dorchester. Stan was a big part of the Milton Animal league and Milton Animal Shelter. He will be greatly missed, but his legacy will live on. So when you see one of the cans in a business drop in some change in memory of Stan. ❤️

Sushi is a one year-old female cat. She came to us as a stray and pregnant. Sushi is now ready to find a home of her own. Sushi is a very loving cat and wants to spend time with her humans. Sushi does need to be the only pet in the home. If you were interested in meeting Sushi please email us at [email protected]

Doc Holliday and his partner Wyatt Earp
Are both ready for a new start. These boys are used to one home and one owner. Unfortunately, their owner passed away and there was no family close that could take them. Wyatt is one and a half years old and Doc is 2 1/2. They really are bonded and depend on each other. Doc is a bit more outgoing and loves being petted. Wyatt is definitely the shy one. After a few weeks and lots of patience, he eventually warmed up to us and a few of us can pet him. If you are able to help these two handsome cats and have the time and patience needed to help them acclimate to a new home then please email us @gmail.com

Hi, friends! It’s Lucy again. I’m still at the Milton Animal Shelter. I guess needing a home where I’m the only pet means finding a new family takes longer. I’ve decided to work on my education while I’m here. Beth taught me to go to a mat and stay there when she says “Place”. She says I did a good job. What do you think?

I LOVE learning new things! Maybe my new family will teach me all kinds of tricks? I hope so! I am smart and I try very hard. Maybe we could meet someday? Just send an email to [email protected] and my shelter humans can set up a time for us to hang out.

Love, Lucy ###

Napoleon and I took a beautiful ride down to the Cape, enjoying the foliage along the way. He will now be a Cape Cod resident and will have a flock of Bantam hens to be friends with. Napoleon wouldn’t let me stay though. He made me come back. Thanks so much my fine feathered friend !

10/17 UPDATE: PRINCESS HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

I didn’t think the perfect cat existed but it does. Her name is Princess. She is about 1 1/2 years old and ready for a new home. Princess is gentle and affectionate and just wants to be with you. She was pregnant when she came to the Shelter and her six kittens have all found homes. Princess gets along with other cats and would fit him well into almost any home.
PRINCESS HAS BEEN ADOPTED; WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS.

Something as simple as a cardboard box or paper towel roll can provide a great enrichment tool for animals. Today Lucy, Angus, and Max enjoyed unpacking boxes containing treats and toys. They know that it’s important to reuse and recycle!

A few of our Shelter residents and guests raided the costume box. They said they couldn’t wait for Halloween! Please note we never do anything that the animals are afraid of or do not want to do. For example, Angus looks like a Swiffer but he is supposed to be a pig. He did not like the headpiece of the pig costume so we did not put it on. He can be a Swiffer if he wants to. 🤷‍♀️🐷
