A HOPE A HOPE saves lives by strengthening the human-animal bond and leading change to save even more. We started out as a very small group with big dreams.

A HOPE is a group of dedicated and passionate people in your community who work every day to make as many resources as possible to create a better tomorrow for our pets and community cats. We work within our community as a guiding light for owners and caretakers in need. We also work with larger organizations in order to learn how we can grow, change, and evolve to meet the constant needs of the a

nimals each day. As we gained momentum and support, we focused even more on the health of our community animals, by providing resources for pet owners in need, educating the community at large, and providing HOPE to our friends and neighbors. We hope that you will open your heart to our cause and join us in whatever capacity you are able. ADOPTION UPDATE FOR BOONE AND BECKETT (previously Buck)!!

Boone was found by a caring individual after his mom abandoned him, while Beckett was found at a Dollar General. After being paired with each other as foster mates, the two of them ended up being adopted out together! Now, they spend their days playing, napping, and causing chaos together!

Here’s what their new mom had to say:

“An update on these boys- they are like having four toddlers at once -haha!

They have been the best addition to our family. The sweetest, snuggliest, wildest and most bonded boys. Just what we needed. And serious kudos to you, A HOPE and their foster, Brenda. They are so friendly and welcoming to anyone who walks in the door- immediately rubbing against their legs and asking for pets. The socialization they received from such a young age is apparent. I feel like they might convert a few people into cat people. 😊 We couldn’t imagine life without them- they bring the joy.”

Remember our call out post for a driver yesterday?

Well, FRED MADE IT BACK TO US! 🥹🐱🏡

Fred was adopted from A HOPE about 7 years ago, and after being surrendered as a stray, he unfortunately found himself in the shelter, 2 hours away from where he was adopted. We knew we couldn’t leave him there, we always take our fosters back! He deserved to come back under our roof, where he could decompress, feel safe, and get the care and love he needs. ❤️

🚗 A MASSIVE THANK YOU to our incredible driver who made the trip to bring Fred back to us! Your willingness to help gave this sweet boy a safe ride home when he needed it most. We are so incredibly grateful! 🙏❤️

Fred is now officially in A HOPE’s foster care, settling into his new home and taking some much-needed time to decompress. 🥰

He has been through a lot of change, so for now, we’re giving him what he needs most: patience, peace, safety, and lots of love. 🐾

And now for the exciting part… 🥁

We have a sweet kitty named Fred who is currently at Bay County Animal Services in Panama City and needs a ride back to his clinic at Snip Happens in Milton. ❤️

🙏 Is anyone available TOMORROW (or as soon as possible) to make this trip and help Fred get where he needs to go?

Fred was adopted from A HOPE about 5 years ago and has unfortunately found himself back at the Bay County shelter after being surrendered as a stray. He deserves to get back to safety and receive the care he needs. 🥺🐱

(And maybe why you should look into adopting one…)

If you’ve never had a pet rat, you might be surprised to learn just how amazing these little creatures are! Rats are often described as “pocket puppies” because they’re incredibly smart, social, affectionate, and full of personality. 🥹❤️

They can learn tricks, recognize their names, and even be potty trained! They absolutely LOVE treats and will happily learn new things if there’s a snack involved. 😂 And when they’re feeling especially happy and relaxed, they may even boggle — their adorable little version of purring where their eyes gently move in and out. It looks strange, but it’s actually a sign of being SUPER happy!

Most rats are also extremely social and love spending time with their people and their rat friends. They’re curious, playful, and can form surprisingly strong bonds with their humans.

So if you’re looking for a tiny companion with a huge personality, a rat might just be your perfect little pocket puppy. 🐀💕

And you guessed it… WE STILL NEED FANCY FEAST KITTEN PÂTÉ!

Our kittens would like to formally announce that they have absolutely no intention of slowing down their eating habits. In fact, they’re pretty sure breakfast, second breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, and midnight snack are all perfectly reasonable.

Our kittens have expensive taste and zero jobs. 😂

🐀💙 SIX NEW SQUISHY BOYS HAVE ARRIVED! 💙🐀

Please welcome Char, Squirrel, Moose, Star, Boy, and Soot.... six handsome dumbo-eared gentlemen who traveled all the way from South Florida to find safe haven with A HOPE and, eventually, some pretty amazing forever homes. 🏡

And when we say gentlemen, we mean BIG. SQUISHY. BOYS.

The kind with the oversized dumbo ears, substantial little potato bodies, and faces that make you immediately want to scoop them up and tell them they've never done anything wrong in their entire lives. 😂

Basically... exactly how we like our rats around here.

These six boys have had quite the journey to get to us, but that part is over now. They're safe, they're settling in, and they're officially part of the A HOPE family while we get to know each of their personalities and prepare them for their next adventure: forever homes of their own. ❤️

We're so happy we could be the safe landing place at the end of their very long road trip.

Before you toss that newspaper into the recycling bin, WE WANT IT! 🙋‍♀️

At Snip Happens, we go through a surprising amount of newspaper every week lining crates and carriers for our patients. It helps us keep things cleaner, more comfortable, and much easier to change out when one of our furry patients decides to… well… do furry-patient things. 💩😂

So if you still get the newspaper.... or know someone with a stack accumulating in the corner because “I might need those someday”.... TODAY IS THAT DAY.
