They might look like a 'muppet' character, but make no mistake, 'wobbegongs' are definitely sharks. But unlike most sharks that lurk in waters searching for their next meal, these guys just sit on the ocean floor... and wait. Lying still, the tasselled wobbegong can open its mouth wide and expand its throat to suck in crustaceans and fish as they swim by.

This is what the skeleton of a puffer fish looks like when inflated!
And those spines are composed of nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite, protein(collagen), and water, the same materials as scales. So basically, these spines are just modified scales.
