Good morning all,
I usually don’t make post like this but If am actually more offended than mad…so here is the story. My poly ODD kitten I had posted several people were interested. I spoke with a few and received the non-refundable deposit on her from someone in Phoenix Arizona, but they needed me to hold her an additional two weeks. Sure no problem I can do that for you. About 4 days before pick up they reach out saying maybe they can’t get her now, expenses were more than expected on a project, significant other rather wait. I say no problem even though the deposit is non-refundable I will let you put that towards a kitten in the future. This person ask for additional pics and I send with the note stating please excuse the mess as their room had not been swept yet that day. So kitty litter on the floor, water bowl dirty(they like to swim in them) ect. Nothing serious just kitten mess. She reply’s the next day yes we still want her flying in today to get her. In the mean time several more families have asked for this kitten and I told them she was reserved because she is….they send me their flight information for today last night and a question about blue eyes in Maine C***s.
There is controversy around blue eye gene in Maine C***s there is more than one gene that produces blue eyes and one of the genes can cause structural changes. These genes change they way the maine c**n looks, as a breeder I have chosen to work with blue eyes and help improve these potential issues. Some breeders are against it and some breeders work with blue eyes as a breeder I chose to work with it.
When this person asked about the blue eye gene I was straight forward and honest that there is controversy about blue eyes but that my kittens are 💯 healthy.
So I wake this morning to a text that states this person will no longer be getting the kitten, because they have concerns about the blue eye gene and the environment my kittens are kept it and is demanding a full refund.
I texted back that per the contract that deposits are non-refundable.
Here comes the part that offended me….because of the environment they are kept in….my home!! Kittens are not born knowing how to use the litter box…there is a stage of their growth that they p*e and p**p all over the floor for about 2 weeks and mom doesn’t clean it up…we do sweep and mop daily. Then their is the longer stage of they think their litter box is a gymnasium and they play in and get litter everywhere. They use their p**p nuggets as toys to play with. These a living creatures that make a mess…and love to play in it!! These are facts and we clean them up daily just part of breeding but to be accused of a bad environment because this person has changed their minds…frankly made me mad!!
