🐾💕 IT'S OFFICIALLY STELLA'S LABOR DAY!! 💕🐾

And what a day it's been here at Hidden Valley Doodles!! ❤️

Our beautiful Stella has officially welcomed SEVEN big, beautiful, healthy babies into the world! 🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶

🎀 5 GIRLS & 2 BOYS!! 💙

And let me tell you, these are some BIG babies! Stella did absolutely amazing. Her labor went quickly and smoothly, and I couldn't be more proud of our sweet girl. ❤️

But here's where the day gets interesting! 😂

Apparently, Stella decided that having babies wasn't quite exciting enough. She wanted to do it while we had company!

Today we had two wonderful families here choosing their puppies from Chai and Leo's litter, and right in the middle of all that excitement, Stella decided it was SHOWTIME! 🎉

Her very first puppy arrived while our first family was here choosing Hibby! 🥰

And wouldn't you know it, her very last puppy arrived while our last family was outside playing with Chai's puppies!

That family has narrowed their choice down to Apple and Jasmine, and they'll be letting me know in the morning which lucky little girl will be joining their family. ❤️

So while one group of puppies was busy finding their forever families, another group was busy making their grand entrance into the world!

You seriously cannot make this stuff up! 😂

Just another perfectly normal, wonderfully chaotic day at Hidden Valley Doodles!

As for our newest little arrivals, we'll be doing our LITTER THEME REVEAL and sharing some much better pictures in the next day or two. I promise these little chunky monkeys are worth the wait! 🥰

But tonight? Tonight is all about getting everybody cleaned up, comfortable, fed, and settled in.

Mama Stella has certainly earned some peace and quiet, and quite frankly, SO HAVE I! 😂

I'm going to put on a good chick flick, crawl into bed early, and sleep right alongside our newest mama so I can keep an eye on her and make sure she's got everything under control.

Something tells me we'll both sleep pretty darn good tonight. Well... at least between puppy checks! ❤️

🐟🐾 The Things We Do for Our Dogs… Just Don’t Tell Scott! 🤫😂

Every year, Scott and I make our annual trip to Duluth, about a five-hour drive, to stock up on one of our absolute favorite treats… smoked whitefish! 🐟❤️

And when I say stock up, I mean STOCK UP! We spend anywhere from $100 to $200 filling a cooler with this delicious stuff!

When we get home, I vacuum-seal them two at a time so we can enjoy our prized fish all winter long. One for Scott, one for me. It's a beautiful system! 😂

Well… today I was enjoying one of my fish, got about a third of the way through it, and decided I should share a little with the dogs.

Now, here's where things get interesting. 🤭

Normally, if I don't finish my fish, I offer the rest to Scott. But today? Well… let's just say the dogs got first dibs!

PLEASE DON'T TELL SCOTT! 🤣🤣

He doesn't spend much time on Facebook, so I figure my secret is safe with all of you! He might be just a LITTLE disappointed to learn that his wife gave perfectly good smoked whitefish to the dogs instead of offering it to him!

Now, before anyone worries, I only give them a little bit because smoked fish is high in sodium. This is definitely a special treat, not an everyday snack.

But judging by the reaction in this video, I think it's safe to say this crew gives smoked whitefish FIVE STARS! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Even Coco, who normally isn't much of a fish fan, was DROOLING over this stuff!

And yes… here comes that wonderful fish breath again! 🤢😂 Between the sardines and now the smoked whitefish, I'm beginning to think I should invest in doggie mouthwash!

Now, you might notice a new face in the crowd! 🐾❤️

Everyone, meet Meg!

Meg is Coco's housemate, and since their family is away on vacation, I offered to have Meg come stay with Coco and me.

It was a little tricky getting everyone settled in at first, but Meg quickly figured out that Hidden Valley Doodles isn't such a bad place to spend a vacation!

After all, there's plenty of adventure, lots of treats, and some crazy lady who baby-talks to you all day long! 😂❤️

But here's something about Meg that absolutely cracks me up.

She BARTERS for her treats! 🤣

I'm not kidding!

When it's treat time, Meg will pick up a stick or a ball and bring it over to me, almost like she's saying…

"Excuse me, ma'am. Would this be an acceptable trade for one of those delicious treats?" 🥹🐾

HOW POLITE IS THAT?!

None of my other dogs have ever offered me a trade! I didn't even know that was an option!

And now, quite frankly, I'm a little disappointed in the rest of my crew! 🤣

Of course, I'm kidding. I don't expect a single thing from any of them.

They already give me something worth more than any stick, ball, or smoked whitefish in the world.

Unconditional love. ❤️

And really, what more could a girl ask for?

Life is pretty darn good here at Hidden Valley Doodles… even if my husband is unknowingly sharing his expensive smoked fish with a bunch of spoiled dogs! 🤫🐟🐾❤️

🐾🎉 HOORAY!! THE DAY HAS FINALLY COME!! PUPPY PICKING HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN!! 🎉🐾

Oh my goodness, what a fun and exciting day here at Hidden Valley Doodles! ❤️

We had three wonderful families come out today to spend time with Chai and Leo's beautiful F1B Mini Bernedoodle babies, and I'm happy to announce that Matcha, Benny, and Earl have officially been chosen!! 🥰🐶

And the excitement is just getting started!

We have two more families coming tomorrow, another family coming Tuesday, and two more on Friday!

So if you've been following this litter or you're on our deposit list, now is the time to start paying attention! 👀 You're always welcome to reach out to me, and I'll happily let you know which puppies are still available as selections are made.

I'm also planning an updated photo shoot of these fluffy little guys and gals very soon! They've grown and changed so much, and their little personalities are really starting to shine through. And let me tell you, what a wonderful bunch of personalities we have! ❤️

Now, can we talk about how GOOD these puppies have been?!

I swear, these might be some of the quietest puppies I've ever had at night! When I'm sleeping, they barely make a peep! I don't know if I should brag about that too loudly because you know how that goes! 😂🤫

Their litter box training is coming along beautifully, too! We're still a little hit or miss, but the effort is definitely there!

Especially with some of these boys! 🤣

I cannot help but laugh when I see one of them standing in the litter box with his two front feet perfectly inside... and his two back feet still outside!

And there he goes, doing his business! 😂

Buddy, you had the right idea! You understood the assignment! You just missed the target by a few inches! 🤣🐾

It's the little things that make raising puppies so entertaining!

We're also getting very close to weaning time, and I think Mama Chai is MORE than ready!

She's been doing a whole lot more tapping OUT than tapping IN lately! 😂

And you know what? That's perfectly okay! She's been an absolutely wonderful mama, but these babies are growing up, eating like little piggies, and becoming more independent every single day.

I think Chai is starting to look at me like, "Okay, Heather, I've done my part. Your turn!" 🤣❤️

And she's right!

Between the eating, playing, exploring, learning, and all the wonderful visitors coming to shower them with attention, these puppies are having the time of their lives!

The video I'm sharing today gives you a little peek into all that fun! Puppies playing, puppies eating, puppies getting loved on... and just being puppies! 🥰

This is honestly one of my favorite stages of raising a litter. They're old enough to show us who they are, young enough to still be wonderfully silly, and every single day brings something new to smile about.

And now the really special part begins... watching these little personalities find the families they'll spend their lives loving. ❤️

Congratulations to the families of Matcha, Benny, and Earl! Your new adventures are getting closer every day!

❤️🐾 Today Is the Day… and This One Is Bittersweet. 🐾❤️

Today, our sweet Echo heads off to her guardian family, and I have to admit, this one is going to be tough. Really tough. 🥹

You see, Echo is extra special to me. She's my last little connection to my beloved June Bug, and oh my goodness, does she remind me of her! From her looks to her personality, there are moments when I look at Echo and see so much of June Bug looking right back at me. ❤️

The selfish part of me wants to keep her right here. Keep her close. Keep that little piece of June Bug all to myself.

But then I remind myself why I believe so strongly in our guardian program.

It's not just about breeding dogs. It's about giving these incredible girls the opportunity to live full, adventurous, love-filled lives with families of their very own, while still being an important part of the Hidden Valley Doodles family.

And Echo? Oh, this girl has SO much to offer the world!

She is SMART. I mean, scary smart sometimes! 😂 She's curious, adventurous, full of personality, and always ready to see what's around the next corner.

And that's exactly why I know this is the right decision.

Hidden Valley Doodles is a pretty wonderful place to be a dog, but let's face it, there's a whole big world out there, and Echo deserves to experience it!

She's going to go hiking, explore trails, visit new places, meet new people, and have adventures that I simply couldn't give her here. And knowing Echo, she's going to embrace every single minute of it! ❤️

That's the beauty of our guardian program. Our girls get to be someone's beloved family pet, enjoying all the individual attention, experiences, and adventures that come with it. They remain part of our breeding program, helping us bring wonderful puppies into the world, and when their mama days are over, they simply continue the beautiful lives they've already been living.

It's a win for the dogs, their guardian families, our program, and all the future families who will someday love their puppies.

Sometimes doing what's best for the ones you love means letting them go, even when every little piece of your heart wants to hold on tighter.

In less than an hour, I'll be saying my goodbyes.

In less than an hour, I'll be reminding myself that this isn't really goodbye. She's still my girl. She's still part of Hidden Valley Doodles. And I'll still get to see her and love on her.

But in less than an hour, I'll also be trying very, VERY hard not to cry. 🥹

And I have a feeling I'm going to lose that battle.

Go have the adventure of a lifetime, my sweet Echo. Your grandma June Bug would be so proud of you. ❤️🐾

Love isn't always about keeping them close. Sometimes it's about giving them wings… or in Echo's case, four little paws and a whole world to explore. ❤️

🐾❤️ Two Very Pregnant Mamas, One Bed, and Apparently NO Room for Me! 😂🐾

Good morning from Hidden Valley Doodles!

I thought I'd give you a little glimpse into what cuddle time looks like around here with our two very pregnant mamas, Stella and Coco!

Now, let me explain something. These girls KNOW their spots! Each has her designated side of the bed, and I'm supposed to squeeze myself right down the middle. Usually, they're both belly up, getting belly rubs while I attempt to watch one of my favorite shows, a good comedy, drama, or what my husband lovingly refers to as a chick flick! 😂

This morning was a little different because I decided to try videotaping our snuggle session. Well, apparently that was VERY exciting! So what you're seeing isn't quite our normal peaceful routine, but it gives you a pretty good idea of just how little of that bed actually belongs to me! 🤣

And speaking of questionable decisions...

I've recently started giving the girls a sardine a day because of the wonderful nutritional benefits they offer. 🐟

What I failed to consider was the BREATH! 🤢😂

Oh, my goodness! Nothing quite like being sandwiched between two very pregnant, sardine-breathing doodles who insist on giving you kisses! I'm seriously considering investing in a nose plug for myself or some mouthwash for the girls!

But all kidding aside, there's actually a very important reason we make this cuddle time part of our daily routine. ❤️

As many of you know, our girls live with their wonderful guardian families when they're not here having babies. But I never want them to feel like they're coming to a strange place or staying with a stranger when it's time to return to me.

I want them to know me, trust me, love me, and feel like they're coming to their second home.

That's why it's so important that our guardian girls come back for visits, even when they're not pregnant. We spend time together, build our relationships, and make sure they know they're part of our family, too.

Usually, I only have one very pregnant mama demanding all my attention at a time. But as fate would have it, Stella and Coco are due just about a week apart! So this time around, cuddle sessions are a little more crowded, a little more chaotic, and apparently a whole lot smellier! 🤣🐟

And you know what? I wouldn't trade these moments for anything. ❤️

I also want to give a heartfelt thank-you to our amazing guardian families. Your willingness to share these girls with me, allow our bonding visits, and work together throughout this journey means more than you know. Those relationships help make the entire process easier and more comfortable for the girls and for all of us.

We're not just raising puppies here. We're building relationships, earning trust, and creating one big extended family. 🥰

I've held you all in suspense for too long.
We are back from the vet and we got our puppy count x-ray for Stella. if you guessed seven that's what they see. now my vets only been wrong twice once he told me 7 and we had eight once he told me 12 and we had 11 but other than that he's been pretty spot on

From honeymoon kisses with handsome Leo 💋 to one BIG beautiful baby belly! 🥰🐶

Our sweet Stella is heading to the vet this afternoon for her X-ray, and we're finally going to find out just how many little blessings she's been hiding in that belly! ❤️

And speaking of that belly... HOLY MOLY, LOOK AT THAT THING!!! 🤣🐾

Now comes the fun part!
