The chicks are almost ready, but today is looking more like a prep day! Fresh bedding, food, water, checking everything over, and me trying not to overthink every tiny chicken decision 😂

She’s one of our 3 little frizzled Easter Eggers, and I swear her feathers already have a mind of their own! She’s tiny, frizzly, and already has the funniest “main character” personality. 🌿

Hi y’all!! 🐓🥚

Burrow & Basket Homestead is just beginning, but I wanted to go ahead and share what we’re working toward. 🐣

Fresh eggs should be available in the next few weeks once my girls start laying! I’ll be serving the Memphis, Tennessee area, as well as the surrounding areas of Memphis! 🪺

We also have duck eggs available soon, as well as rabbit meat in the near future as we grow!

Duck eggs are one of my favorite homestead staples because they’re rich, creamy, and amazing for baking. They make cakes, brownies, breads, biscuits, and cornbread extra moist and fluffy. 🦆🥚

I know that rabbit meat may be new for some people, so I’ll be sharing more about it along the way, like how it’s cooked, what it tastes like, and easy recipes for anyone curious! 🌱

This is all starting small, but it means a lot to me to build something for my family, my community, and anyone who loves fresh local food. Thank y’all for following along. 🌿🤍
