⚜️ 4,000. Y’ALL REALLY DID THAT. ⚜️
February 13th, we opened a window.
Less than eight months later, 4,000 of y’all showed up on the other side of it. 🖤
And I don't think I can explain what that number feels like without talking about everything that's happened between then and now.
We started Hex & Honey with a food trailer, some big-ass dreams, years of restaurant experience, and absolutely no idea how quickly y'all were about to make us figure some s**t out. 😂
We've sold out.
We've had lines longer than we were prepared for.
We've traveled all over Fayette, Hardeman & Shelby Counties.
We've catered weddings, businesses, community events and private parties.
We've had equipment break, generators act up, AC quit, propane give us hell, weather change our plans, permits slow us down, and days where we've looked at each other like...
"What the hell did we get ourselves into?" 😂
We've made mistakes. We've had orders take too long. We've had days where we absolutely nailed it and days where we knew we could've done better.
But we've learned something every single time.
We've changed systems. We've adjusted portions. We've changed how we prep. We've listened to your feedback. And when we've gotten something wrong, we've tried our damnedest to make it right.
Because Hex & Honey was never supposed to just be about selling food.
It's about feeding people something they can't get everywhere else.
It's about supporting the little businesses around us.
It's about remembering your names and your usual orders.
It's about seeing the same faces at that window week after week—and then watching those people bring somebody new with them the next time.
And somewhere along the way, this little Cajun food trailer started becoming something bigger than we originally imagined.
We've grown into catering. We've expanded our menu. We've stepped into our commissary kitchen. We're building systems and laying groundwork for things that would've sounded absolutely insane to us on February 13th.
And we're still figuring it out.
We're only 7½ months old, y'all. 😭
There was no giant advertising budget behind this.
There wasn't some big company pushing us.
A whole lot of this happened because YOU TALKED ABOUT US.
You shared our posts.
You tagged your friends.
You posted your food.
You left reviews.
You brought your coworkers.
You told somebody, "You HAVE to try Hex & Honey."
And then they told somebody else.
That's how 4,000 people ended up here.
So whether you've been rocking with us since that window first opened or you literally just became #4,000...
Thank you.
Thank you for letting us learn in front of you.
Thank you for giving us grace when we haven't gotten everything perfect.
Thank you for celebrating the wins with us.
Thank you for supporting our family, our employees, our crazy ideas and this little restaurant on wheels.
And thank you for proving that you don't have to start with a giant building or a giant bank account to build something people believe in.
Apparently you just need some good food, a stubborn-ass chef, a hell of a community and enough audacity to keep going. 😂🖤
4,000 strong.
And somehow...
I still feel like we're just getting started. 👀🔥
