The Marin County Veterinary Medical Association awarded a scholarship to our very own RVT Ophélie! The scholarship money will go towards her continuing education to become a Veterinary Technician Specialist in dentistry. Congratulations Ophélie! We're so proud of you. 🥳✨🦷

Whether we are helping patients in the office or at a zoo, our technicians have my back every day, and they have each others' backs, too. Congratulations Dr. Lommer! 🥳 Yesterday she was awarded the Presidential Medal for Stewardship from the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC) for her work organizing a foundations course for residents in the veterinary dental program and her strong commitment to educating our future boarded veterinary dentists! 🏅 She was also presented with her certificate for Zoo and Wildlife Dentistry, which she earned after passing an additional exam. 🐯 We are in so much awe of her strong principles and amazing work ethic!

Adventure for the Aggie team! The next few days our doctors and technicians are at the annual Veterinary Dental Forum in Palm Springs. This annual conference consists of both lectures and labs and covers topics that range from surgical techniques to instrument maintenance to anesthetic considerations.

So to have been part of Tsavo's care team! Spectacular coordination by the animal care crew and veterinary staff had this magnificent 15-foot, 1600-lb boy safely anesthetized for his oral surgery on Wednesday.

Freddy's heart-shaoed nose makes him the perfect patient to feature on Valentine's Day!

Freddy came to see us today due to a traumatic malocclusion, where his lower canine teeth don't fit properly in front of his upper canines, and are poking into his gums and palate! He'll be back in a couple of weeks for his procedure to remove the pointy tips of those lower canines and make him more comfortable.

Sometimes in vetmed it takes a village…to do a blood draw on a tiny Yorkie! All it took was a little Churu 😉

Rilo came to us with 3 teeth and left with none due to periodontist. With those teeth extracted, Rilo should start feeling better and living happier! ☺️
