The heart of our treatment team, Randee!

There is something incredibly special about having someone on your team who shows up, follows through, supports their coworkers, and genuinely cares about doing the right thing.

Some people are just born with a little extra compassion, and Randee is one of them. She has a way of making every patient feel safe, loved, and cared for, even on their hardest days. Her gentle touch, kind heart, and willingness to go the extra mile never go unnoticed.

Happy National Veterinary Technician Week! 💙🐾

You've met a vet tech or vet assistant at your pet’s appointment, but do you know what they actually do? Spoiler: a LOT. A Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) is a credentialed medical professional who has graduated from an accredited veterinary technology program and passed state and national board exams. They also complete continuing education courses to maintain that licensure throughout their careers. Some of our Veterinary Assistants (VA) have gone through school programs and others have been on the job trained with over 5-10+ years of experience! In Washington state there are multiple things LVT’s are legally able to do that VA’s are not allowed to preform. In the grand scheme though, think of them all as the nurses of the veterinary world, but with a few extra jobs thrown in.

What do vet techs and assistants do? Deep breath… 💉 Draw blood, place IV catheters, and give injections and medications 😴 Induce (LVT only), monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia 🔪 Prep patients and assist veterinarians in surgery 🦷 Perform dental cleanings and take dental X-rays 📸 Take radiographs (X-rays) 🔬 Run lab work: bloodwork, urinalysis, f***l tests, ear cytologies, and more 🩺 Take vitals, triage patients, and monitor hospitalized care 🩹 Clean and bandage wounds and provide post-op care 📚 Teach clients how to give meds, manage chronic conditions, and care for their pets at home ❤️ Comfort patients and families through hard days, including end-of-life care.

Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) and Veterinary Assistants (VA) are absolutely the backbone of every veterinary hospital and clinic. They do skilled, physically and emotionally demanding work, often behind the scenes. We are excited to announce the expansion of our Petcare DVM team. Please give a warm welcome to Dr. Travis Rollason!

Dr. Travis Rollason was born and raised in San Diego, California. In 2012, Dr. Rollason earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from San Diego State University, graduating summa cm laude. During his undergraduate studies, he worked as a veterinary assistant and participated in veterinary outreach efforts in underserved communities in Mexico, assisting with surgical procedures and providing medical care to animals in need.

In 2017, Dr. Rollason fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian when he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of California, Davis. His professional interests include ophthalmology, internal medicine, dermatology, soft tissue surgery, dentistry,
and preventive medicine. Dr. Rollason is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and is accredited by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Dr. Rollason is passionate about providing exceptional, high-quality veterinary care while recognizing the important role pets play in the lives of their families. He believes the humananimal bond is one of the most rewarding aspects of veterinary medicine and takes a collaborative approach to patient care, working closely with clients to develop individualized
treatment plans.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Rollason enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and two pugs, Huckleberry and Abraham. He is an avid Peloton enthusiast and enjoys international travel, experiencing different cultures, and discovering new cuisines. Dr. Rollason has a minor obsession with Taylor Swift’s music—and is always happy to discuss favorite songs, albums,
and eras with fellow Swifties.

While it's a tasty treat for us, chocolate contains caffeine and theobromine, chemical compounds that dogs and cats can't metabolize effectively. This can lead to symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, rapid heart rate, and in severe cases, seizures or even death. Keep chocolate out of reach of dogs and cats, and if you suspect your pet may have ingested anything containing cocoa, seek emergency vet care immediately.
