The caring and love at Milford Animal Hospital doesn’t just happen in the exam room. It happens behind the scenes, throughout every part of the hospital, and yes, even right up front at the reception desk.

Just look at what happened when sweet little Skylar came through our front doors. Carolyn instantly fell in love, and honestly, we can’t blame her. Some patients have a way of making an entrance and immediately becoming the star of the front desk.

Because Best Care means more than what happens during an appointment. It means creating a warm, welcoming experience for your pet from the very first hello. From the moment their paws enter our front doors, they’re surrounded by people who genuinely care about them.

Skylar may have only been stopping by for a visit, but she definitely left a little extra happiness behind at the front desk.

It’s Throwback Thursday, and we’re looking back, not too far, to when this little cutie came in for a visit! Lulu is so adorable that we just had to feature her again.

Lulu is a Scottish Fold, a breed known for those distinctive folded ears and sweet, round faces. Fun fact: not every Scottish Fold actually has folded ears! Kittens are born with straight ears, and whether they eventually fold depends on their genetics. Either way, Lulu is pretty irresistible.

Mowgli was the definition of a best boy during his visit with Tech Mia!

Mia says he was an absolute pleasure to work with for his laser therapy session. He enjoyed an extra-cushioned bed setup, plenty of attention, and, of course, a good amount of cookies to make the experience even better.

Therapeutic laser therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses targeted light energy to help support the body’s natural healing process. It may be used as part of a treatment plan for things like pain, inflammation, arthritis, and certain injuries or surgical recovery.

If you think therapeutic laser therapy might be beneficial for your pet, ask your veterinarian if it could be a good fit for them. Your vet can help determine whether it’s appropriate based on your pet’s individual needs.

And Mowgli? He gives the whole experience two paws up.

It’s TONGUE OUT TUESDAY, and it looks like we've already have a seasoned pro!

Hank stopped by for his puppy appointment with Dr. Parikh, and Dr. Shutts also took a minute to give him some love. Judging by that perfectly placed tongue, Hank already seems like an expert at this whole Tongue Out Tuesday thing! At this rate, he may have to start giving lessons to the rest of our patients.

Keep practicing that tongue-out smile, Hank. You’re off to a great start!

LABOR DAY HOLIDAY HOURS

In celebration of Labor Day and in appreciation of all the hard work our doctors and staff put in every day caring for our patients and their families, Milford Animal Hospital will be CLOSED on Monday, September 7th.

We hope our MAH team gets to enjoy a well-deserved day to relax, recharge, and spend time with family and friends.

We will return to our regular hours on Tuesday, September 8th.

If you have an emergency while we are closed, please contact either Central Hospital for Veterinary Hospital in North Haven at 203-865-0878 OR VCA Shoreline in Shelton at 203-929-8600.

This past weekend, we gathered together for our Annual End of Summer Cookout, and it was such a fun time for everyone! It was the perfect way to celebrate the end of summer with our MAH family, with plenty of great food, lots of laughter, good conversation, and time to relax and enjoy each other’s company outside of the hospital.

And, of course, no MAH cookout would be complete without some entertainment from the MAH band! Our talented crew took the stage and kept the good times going with a set full of familiar favorites.

Check out this clip from their performance featuring their cover of Modern English’s “I Melt With You.” We think they did a pretty fantastic job!

We’re already looking forward to next year’s cookout!

THROWBACK THURSDAY: Willow had a very important stop to make at MAH... and apparently, her puppy visit wasn't enough!

While she was here, Willow decided to lend a paw at the front reception desk. She may have been small, but she was more than happy to supervise the goings-on, greet everyone who stopped by, and add a little puppy charm to the workday.

We're not sure what she accomplished at the desk, but she certainly made reception a whole lot cuter!
