“Wilson” Bahama Channel - (English Channel X Awesome Again) 2017 15.3hh Bay TB Gelding

🥕 REDUCTION! ADDITIONAL TRAINING! MORE VIDEO AVAILABLE!

“Wilson” is the picture of a classic, all-American Thoroughbred of yesteryear: thick neck, cute gaits, gorgeous head, sweet and affectionate personality, beautiful mane and tail, and willingness to try just about anything!

By the famous English Channel, Wilson is what English Channel offspring are known for being - resilient, fun, even-tempered, sound, and rugged. He had a very successful and happy racing career with zero injuries.

These days, he’s been trying his hand at everything we have to offer around the farm - cross country schooling, arena jumping, gymnastics, water, trail riding, dressage basics, busy lessons, and has been happily ridden by teens, adult amateurs, and professionals. He is familiar with lots of sights and sounds.

He is lovely for the farrier, perfect in the cross ties, loves to cuddle, doesn’t flinch at needles, and is an angel for teeth/sheath (without sedation). Wilson is UTD on teeth, shoes, worming, vax, Coggins, etc. and has recently flexed and palpated sound. Loads, bathes, etc.

Wilson would be appropriate for:

“Stevie” A Sense of Wonder – KWPN 2022 16hh Rose Grey Gelding – Dutch Harness x Arab (ADHHA, AHA) Graaf Kelly x CM Hadara x Halyr Meia

UPDATED DRESSAGE & JUMPING VIDEO. AA & KID PROVEN. RECENTLY SHOWN UNDER SADDLE FOR FIRST TIME.

Rarely does a horse come along with this much natural talent. Stevie is a true super athlete, with three phenomenal gaits, natural suspension, and tremendous potential as a future FEI dressage partner. His expressive changes and passage will come easily, and he shows equal promise over fences. Brave and athletic, he tends to over-jump. He loves schooling XC fences.

Stevie is currently in a professional classical program, developing lightness, connection, balance, and correct basics. He has been successfully ridden by AAs and JR/YRs, is proficient at long-lining, lunging, poles, and trail riding, and has been lightly started over fences. He cruises around cross country in a snaffle and has recently shown under saddle for the first time (successfully!). He was double champion at his first show in-hand as a two-year-old.

His breeding is exceptional. By Dutch Harness stallion Graaf Kelly, a multi-year ADHHA and KWPN champion whose offspring excel in both dressage and driving, Stevie comes from a line of successful sport horses. His dam is a granddaughter of the legendary Arabian sire Thee Desperado.

Stevie bathes, stands in the isle, and transitions comfortably between stall and pasture. He has no buck, rear, bolt, or vices, though he retains some youthful wiggle and cheekiness and will thrive with continued professional guidance. He has solid barefoot feet, clean legs, and no soundness or functional limitations.

We believe Stevie has the talent to excel as an FEI dressage horse or pursue jumping/eventing. Suitable for an AA/JR/YR in a program or a professional seeking an exceptional young prospect to develop.

This past Sunday, perhaps the most famous TruBlu graduate, “Waylon” Ramblin’ Man (2020 Welsh X), and current TruBlu star, KWPN “Stevie” A Sense of Wonder (2022 by Graaf Kelly), successfully competed in Cedar Ridge Equestrian Center’s Oct Eventing Derby!

Waylon earned a fabulous 30.3 (USDF equivalent 69.7) in his test, the best score of the show, and delivered a perfect Starter XC course. Stevie completed his first ever dressage test in his first ever ridden show with perfect manners and obedience, bringing a 38 (USDF equivalent 62), a harmony score of 7.5, and big smiles.

What a gift to continue to be involved in Waylon’s life and development, and to develop a very special young man such as Stevie!

“Wilson” Bahama Channel (English Channel X Awesome Again) - 2017 15.3hh Bay Thoroughbred Gelding

Wilson is the epitome of a classic-type Thoroughbred: it’s like he stepped out of a 1960’s posh equestrian lifestyle magazine. From his beautiful, thick neck, gentlemanly head, plush back, excellent (rock solid!) feet, thick, wavy mane and tail, and a knowing, soft twinkle in his eye - he is your partner in a National Velvet-style fantasy. His presence is calm and wise, he’s soothing to the soul!

Wilson has life experience (been there, seen that) - and is ready to head in a multitude of directions. He would be considered a “war horse” by most, having aged out of the track after winning a quarter of a million over the course of his career, with zero injuries or soundness concerns, and firmly cemented as a favorite among staff. Now he has proven that he will be a fabulous riding horse, while schooling dressage basics, small arena jumps, cross country, and hacking out low and slow! He has also proven himself Junior safe and approved. He is safe to be ridden with other horses around, and is calm in a busy barn with kids, music, dogs, cats, and cars. He stands at the mounting block like a statue. Wilson is a perfect all-around guy, loves the slow life these days, and as his name suggests, he wants to take you to “Bermuda, Bahama….”

If you are looking for a buddy that you could take on an adventure with one day, and be casual with the next, this could be the perfect guy for you. He’s adorable, he travels very well, and you’ll still have a fun-loving guy to hang with once you’re back home from the show. He is accepting of a lot of leg and hand, and you don’t need anything more than a simple snaffle. He is hard to spook, stands beautifully in the isle, loves to be pampered, and is the biggest cuddle bug! He asks for a snuggle every time he’s bridled and before mounting. He feels great to sit on, and can be described as a bit “lazy” at times.

One of the reasons Wilson was an instant “yes” for our program is his breeding! He is sired by English Channel, who was also a classic, old-school Thoroughbred: smaller in stature, excellent under a variety of conditions, noble head, consistent, high-preforming, hardy, and friendly to humans. He won 5.3 mil over the course of his career, and collected a hefty stud fee of 35 kay.

Since joining the program, Wilson has been learning classical basics (bending, balance, flexion), hacking out, jumping small arena courses, schooling cross country jumps, starting on water elements, ridden by a junior, and work with other horses in the arena.

Recently, Wilson’s shoes were removed and his feet are holding up wonderfully. He flexes sound, both upper and lower. His airways are clear, his eyes are bright, his feet test negative, and his back palpates clean. He has recently had his teeth floated without sedation, just standing in the cross ties (no major findings). He is UTD on coggins/vax.

Wilson would be appropriate for:
