Adoption & Education Center
724 2nd Ave.

The Quad City Animal Welfare Center is a no-kill shelter founded in 1977, with the purpose of saving animals one life at a time. W. Milan, IL 61264

Spay/Neuter & Wellness Clinic

Our mission is threefold: operating a shelter for homeless animals, having a spay/neuter program, and providing humane education to the community. Through this approach, we are able to impact

the lives of thousands of animals and people annually by bringing pets and people together for the benefit of both and putting a dent in pet population. Please note any comments made on Facebook may be used for QCAWC marketing purposes online, at the shelter, or at other locations. Third party fundraising posts are not allowed on the page to reduce confusion and protect our donors from potential scams. Please message or call us if you need help, however, and we will do our best to connect you with resources.

Alumni update!

"We wanted to give another update for you guys on the puppy we adopted from you guys back in March now that he is much bigger.
His previous name was “Larry,” now renamed Finnan. He is coming up on his first birthday in October, so we wanted to show what a big boy he is! He has a big dog personality in a medium-sized dog’s body. He will play with my parents’ Cane Corso and our Golden Retriever, thinking he is their size!
He loves to play ball, tries to “herd” our four wheeler, loves cuddling with his big sister Harlow, enjoys burrowing in blankets, and absolutely loves showing his singing voice by howling like a husky 😂 He is a very spoiled boy & has been the perfect addition to our family!"

Take a trip… and bring me home! 🐾

Meet Trip, an 8-year-old handsome black kitty who is ready to leave the shelter behind and start the next chapter of his journey! 🖤

Trip is looking for a quiet, comfortable adult-only home where he can settle in at his own pace and enjoy the good life. At 8 years old, he’s past the kitten chaos and ready for a more relaxed kind of adventure, one filled with cozy spots, gentle companionship, and plenty of time to simply be himself.

He may not need a passport, but Trip is definitely ready for his next destination: FOREVER HOME! 🏡✈️

If your home is the peaceful landing spot this sweet senior is searching for, come meet Trip and see if your next adventure starts with him. ❤️

Razzy is Radiant!

Razzy is a 7 year young cutie looking for a special, dedicated adopter at Quad City Animal Welfare Center (Milan, Illinois)
A few months ago, Razzy was found abandoned in a carrier outside the shelter. She was terrified and unsure of the world around her, but once she realized she was safe, her true personality began to shine. Today, she's a sweet, affectionate, and outgoing girl who loves spending time with her people.

Razzy was born 05/19/2019. She is looking for someone willing to give her a little extra care. She has diabetes and allergies, but thankfully she is **not insulin dependent**. Her diabetes is well controlled with a strict prescription diet and a couple of medications. Staying on her routine is the key to keeping her healthy and feeling her best, and it has been working wonderfully for her.

Razzy doesn't let her medical needs slow her down—she still enjoys attention, affection, and all the comforts of home. She just needs an adopter who understands that a little extra commitment means giving a wonderful cat the second chance she deserves.
If you have room in your heart for a cat who will reward your dedication with love, Razzy is waiting to meet you. Can't adopt? Please share!
