๐ŸŽƒ Spooky Season, Safe Pets! ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘ป

Halloween is just around the corner! While decorating for the spooky season, don't forget about your four-legged friends! ๐Ÿงก

๐Ÿพ Keep decorations out of reach! Curious pets may chew on decorations, creating choking hazards or intestinal blockages.

๐ŸŽƒ Watch those jack-o'-lanterns! Keep candles and open flames away from pets to prevent burns or accidents.

๐Ÿ’ก Hide electrical cords! Chewing on cords from Halloween lights and decorations can cause serious injuries.

๐Ÿ‘ป Costumes aren't for everyone! If your pet wears a costume, make sure it fits comfortably and doesn't restrict movement, breathing, or vision.

๐Ÿฌ Keep candy out of paws' reach! Chocolate and sugar-free candies containing xylitol can be dangerous for pets.

Halloween should be full of treats, not trips to the vet! ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ

Animal Hospital of Milan wishes you and your furry friends a safe and spooky Halloween! ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿพ

๐ŸŽ€October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month๐ŸŽ€

At Animal Hospital of Milan, weโ€™re honoring those who are fighting, celebrating survivors, and remembering loved ones lost to breast cancer. ๐Ÿ’—

As veterinary professionals, weโ€™d also like to bring awareness to mammary tumors in our four-legged companions. Just like in humans, early detection plays an important role in identifying potential health concerns.

This October, weโ€™re encouraging everyone to prioritize their health and the health of those they love, including their pets. ๐Ÿพ

๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿพ SPOOKY TREATS, SCARY RISKS! Keep Halloween Candy Away from Your Pets! ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿ‘ป

Halloween is full of sweet treats for us, but some can be downright dangerous for our furry family members! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ Before you head out trick-or-treating, hereโ€™s what every pet parent should know:

๐Ÿšซ ๐Ÿซ Chocolate: Contains theobromine and caffeine, which are toxic to pets. Dark chocolate and baking chocolate are especially dangerous.

๐Ÿšซ ๐Ÿฌ Sugar-Free Candy: May contain xylitol, an artificial sweetener that can cause a life-threatening drop in blood sugar and liver damage in dogs.

๐Ÿšซ ๐Ÿ‡ Raisins: Often found in Halloween snack mixes and treats, raisins can cause kidney failure in dogs.

๐Ÿšซ ๐Ÿญ Candy Wrappers: Foil and plastic wrappers can cause choking or dangerous intestinal blockages if swallowed.

๐Ÿšซ ๐Ÿฌ Too Much Sugar & Fat: Even candy that isn't toxic can cause stomach upset, vomiting, diarrhea, and potentially pancreatitis.

๐ŸŽƒ HOW TO KEEP YOUR PETS SAFE:
๐Ÿพ Store candy bowls out of reach.
๐Ÿพ Remind children not to share Halloween treats with pets.
๐Ÿพ Keep trick-or-treat bags safely tucked away.
๐Ÿพ Offer pet-safe treats instead so your furry friends can join the fun!

๐Ÿšจ Think your pet ate Halloween candy? Don't wait for symptoms to appear! Contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary clinic immediately. If possible, save the packaging so you can identify the ingredients. Never induce vomiting unless instructed by a veterinary professional.

Let's make this Halloween fun, festive, and SAFE for every member of the family! ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿพ

Cute pup up for adoption! ๐Ÿถ

Anyone in West Tennessee area interested in taking this stray off our hands? She is just a pup-- very sweet and playful. As you know, though, I have more than enough tails to attend to. I cannot keep her.
