I wanted to personally reach out because we know our recent name change from Reno Animal Hospital to CareVet Reno Animal Hospital may have raised some questions about what this means.
First and foremost: Dr. Hunholz is still here, our team is still here, and we are still the same hospital you know and trust.
For more than 30 years, Dr. Hunholz and I have worked together to help make Reno Animal Hospital what it is today. Over those years, we have had the privilege of caring for generations of pets and building relationships with so many wonderful families in our community. Those relationships, and the compassionate care behind them, remain at the heart of who we are. Our new name does not mean Reno Animal Hospital has been replaced by a new practice or a new team. Rather, adding CareVet to our name reflects the partnership and support that has been behind our hospital since 2024.
CareVet provides resources and support behind the scenes so our local team can continue focusing on what matters most: caring for you and your pets. While the name on our building may look different, the people inside it and our commitment to this community remain the same.
I also want to personally reassure everyone that Dr. Hunholz has not retired. He has stepped back from some of the responsibilities that came with hospital ownership, allowing him to spend more of his time doing what he loves most: practicing veterinary medicine, caring for patients, and connecting with the clients he has gotten to know over the years.
I remain actively involved with the hospital as well, working alongside our team and behind the scenes to help ensure CareVet Reno Animal Hospital continues providing the high standard of care you have come to expect from us.
We understand that a new name and new signage can feel like a big change, especially when you have trusted Reno Animal Hospital for many years. But when you walk through our doors, we hope you'll see what we see every day: the same familiar faces, the same commitment to your pets, and the same Reno Animal Hospital at heart, with additional support behind us for the future.
Thank you for the trust you have placed in Dr. Hunholz, me, and our entire team over the years. We are incredibly grateful to continue caring for your pets and being part of this community for many years to come.
If you ever have questions about the change, please don't hesitate to reach out. I am always happy to talk with you personally.
Sincerely,
Brandi Boettler
