🐾 Fun Facts Friday – Labrador Retriever Edition! 🐾

Did you know? 🤔

The Labrador Retriever’s ancestors were first recognized in Newfoundland, Canada, during the 1700s, where they worked alongside fishermen retrieving fish, nets, and ropes from icy waters. In the early 1800s, English sportsmen imported these hardworking dogs to England and began selectively breeding them as hunting companions for retrieving ducks and other game birds. By the 1880s, the modern Labrador Retriever we know today was taking shape as a premier hunting and retrieving dog.

🦆💦 Their incredible noses, soft mouths, intelligence, and love of water are all traits that made them legendary in the field—and beloved family companions today.

It’s no wonder Labradors have remained one of America’s favorite dog breeds for decades! ❤️

🇺🇸🐶 Memorial Weekend crew checked in at Bark Barn!

We had big smiles, little legs, floppy ears, and LOTS of tail wags around here on Memorial weekend. ❤️

Our holiday guests were busy making friends, playing hard, and soaking up all the love and attention. Safe to say… everyone had a pretty “ruff” time. 😉

We hope all of our Bark Barn families enjoyed the holiday weekend while your pups enjoyed their own little vacation with us! 🐾
