Sometimes the best decision is the one you decide not to make. 🌺🌊

For a while, we seriously considered buying another aquarium store and stepping back into the industry we spent so many years building our lives around. Ultimately, we realized we didn’t want to go into debt recreating something we’d already done — especially when our hearts were pulling us toward something completely different.

So instead of buying a store, we bought Hawaiʻi. 🌴😂

Okay, technically we bought our own little piece of the Big Island — but somehow that feels even better.

We’re incredibly excited about what comes next. We want to become part of our local community, give back where we can, and find opportunities to get involved with reef conservation and restoration here on the island.

After spending so many years caring for marine life in glass boxes, there is something pretty incredible about having the opportunity to put that same love and energy toward protecting the ecosystems those animals actually come from. 🪸🐠

This chapter isn’t about selling more fish, filling more tanks, or taking on more debt. It’s about stewardship, conservation, community, and building a life we’re genuinely excited about.

Reefing will always be part of our story.

But apparently the next chapter needed a much, much bigger reef. 🌊🌺
