We are heartbroken by the loss of K-9 Officer Knight of the , who gave his life in the line of duty. Knight served alongside his handler, Cpl. John Walsh, with bravery and dedication. We are grateful for his service and hold Cpl. Walsh and the entire Chesterfield County Police Department in our hearts. Rest easy, good boy. ❤️❤️❤️

Polydactyl cats are born with extra toes, most often on their front paws. It’s a genetic trait and is usually completely harmless, just an extra dose of cute. That said, those extra toes can come with a few care considerations. More toes means more nails to trim, and sometimes they grow at different angles or are easier to snag if not maintained. Most polydactyl cats live totally normal, healthy lives, but regular paw checks and nail trims are important to keep them comfortable.

Meet Sonny 🐾💛

This sweet Lab is doing great after surgery for an aural hematoma and is rocking his no-flap head wrap like a pro while he heals.

An aural hematoma occurs when small blood vessels inside the ear flap rupture, causing blood to collect between the skin and cartilage. It’s often secondary to head shaking or scratching from underlying issues like ear infections, allergies, or irritation. Treatment typically involves surgically draining the fluid and addressing the underlying cause to help prevent recurrence.

Sonny is now in recovery mode, resting comfortably, staying protected, and getting plenty of love while his ear continues to heal. 🐶✨

To your cat… it’s actually a compliment! Cats groom the ones they trust. It can also be a way to bond, mark you with their scent, or just show a little love (in their own… chaotic way).

If it ever becomes excessive or obsessive, it could be a sign of stress or something medical, so keep an eye on it.
