Meet Cobbler, a beloved pet duck who lost part of his upper beak after a traumatic dog attack. Because ducks rely on their beaks for eating, preening, exploring, and communicating, his injury presented a unique and complex challenge.
Over several months, our team worked together to create a completely customized solution. Using CT imaging, 3D modeling, and precision 3D printing, we designed a prosthetic beak made specifically for Cobbler's unique anatomy. Every contour, measurement, and adjustment was carefully planned to provide the best possible fit and function.
Once the design was complete, our surgical team secured the prosthetic in place. We are thrilled to share that the procedure was a success. Cobbler is recovering well and doing great with his new beak!
This case is a remarkable example of what can happen when compassionate veterinary medicine, creativity, teamwork, and advanced technology come together.
