From umbilical lesions to tick bites, New World screwworm (NWS) infestations can start from many kinds of wounds. Laying eyes on your animals is the key to protecting them from this pest. If you observe these signs in your animals:
1. Do NOT move the animal (even to the vet clinic)
2. Report to the TAHC 1-800-550-8242
3. Don't panic. This is a highly preventable and treatable condition.

🌾🐴 Help Us Keep Bellies Full This Week 🤍

Yesterday, our neighbor was incredibly gracious and allowed us to use his entire property for grazing. The horses absolutely loved having access to so much fresh grass! Unfortunately, we can’t do that again until we can properly fence the back half of the property—we don’t want anyone deciding to go on an adventure of their own.

To make matters worse, the remainder of our alfalfa soaked into the mud after the recent weather, leaving us very short on feed this week. With a pasture full of hungry mouths depending on us, we’re asking for a little help from our community.

If you’d like to donate toward alfalfa or feed, we would be so grateful. Every bale helps and every dollar goes directly toward keeping these horses healthy, happy, and fed.

Thank you for always showing up for the animals when they need it most. 🤍

My daughter was just trying to eat her lunch while helping me supervise the chaos in the yard. Meanwhile, Spice had other plans and was absolutely convinced that burritos are meant to be shared. 🌯😂

At Circle H, there’s never really a quiet lunch break—just a constant audience of furry friends hoping for a bite. Luckily for Spice, she’s cute enough to make you question your boundaries. 🤣🫏💕

Mi Poblito came over yelling at me because he was convinced we had hidden his girlfriend somewhere. He searched everywhere, threw a fit, and demanded answers. 🤦‍♀️🐴

Turns out she was standing in the back the whole time.

Blaze is making so many new friends and he even let the baby goats explode the wheat everywhere 🤍🐴🐐 Safe to say he is settling in just fine around here. Between the curious goats, the pig rooting around, and hay flying in every direction, Blaze just stood there like the patient gentleman he is. We are pretty sure the babies think every hay bale is a jungle gym.

At Circle H we allow everyone to run free when we can and just be animals 🤍

Update on sweet Burrita 🤍🫏

She is settling into her new home so well. She even decided bananas are her new favorite snack 🍌

Before anyone comes for me, her new family was reminded that moderation is key, especially while working on getting her crest down. A donkey’s crest is one of the primary areas where they store fat. When a donkey is overfed or kept on a poor diet for long periods, that crest can eventually fall over or “break.” This is called a broken crest and unfortunately it is permanent because it is literally the ligament in the neck breaking from the excess weight.

Thankfully Burrita is already settling in beautifully and getting the care she needs 🤍
