Sayla’s kennel life doesn’t tell her whole story, and her recent sleepover proved it!
Sayla is one of the many wonderful dogs at our shelter who has been overlooked time and time again. Like so many amazing pups waiting for homes, she doesn’t always show her best self in the kennel, but once she had the chance to relax in a home environment, her true personality shined.
Sayla came to us a few months ago as a stray and was never claimed, so we don’t know what her life was like before she found her way to us. What we do know is this, Sayla knows what home means!
During her sleepover, Sayla was respectful of her surroundings, did well around the resident kitties, enjoyed a long walk, ran around the house, played for hours, picked her favorite spot on the couch, and settled in for a cozy nap while watching Alice in Wonderland, (she especially loved the flower song)!
That night, she curled up by her sleepover buddy’s side and stayed there until everyone was up the next morning. After a potty break and breakfast, Sayla headed out for a fun trip to Petco and the farmer’s market, where everyone who met her said she was the cutest, most well-behaved pup. She soaked up the pets, kisses, and attention, and even rocked an adorable new bandana for the rest of the day!
Stories like Sayla’s are such an important reminder that some dogs are loud, nervous, quiet, boisterous, or unsure in the kennel, but that doesn’t mean they won’t blossom once they feel safe, loved, and comfortable. If a dog catches your eye on our website, please ask to meet them in an adoption room or outside in one of our beautiful paddocks. You might be surprised by who they really are once they have space to shine.
Sayla is housebroken, spayed, microchipped, up to date on her vaccines, and is ready to find her forever home! Come meet Sayla and all of her friends that are also patiently waiting to let you see who they are inside and out! We are open every day from 12-4, except for Wednesdays, with no appointment needed!
