About Cobb Veterinary Clinic

Cobb Veterinary Clinic started as a dream for our founder Robert L Cobb. Over the past 40 years, it has grown into a full-service hospital for equine, large animals, and small animals. It was Dr. Cobb’s dream to serve families and any four-legged animal that needed our veterinary care. We serve animals from the smallest dogs and cats to racehorses and bucking bulls and everything in between.

Did you know that proper dental care is just as important for horses as it is for people? 🐴🦷

Dr. Olivo routinely performs dental “floats,” a procedure that carefully files down sharp points and uneven surfaces on a horse’s teeth.🦷Because a horse’s teeth continuously grow and wear over time, they can develop painful edges that make chewing difficult and uncomfortable.😫

During a float, Dr. Olivo uses specialized tools to smooth these areas, helping horses chew more efficiently and comfortably. This not only reduces pain, but also supports better digestion, helps maintain a healthy weight, and can even improve behavior under saddle.🐎🤩

Some common signs your horse may need a dental float include:
• Dropping feed while eating❌
• Weight loss or difficulty maintaining condition❌
• Head tossing or resistance when bridled❌
• Bad breath or excessive salivation❌

Routine dental exams and floats are a key part of preventive care and can make a big difference in your horse’s overall health and performance.

If you have questions about your horse’s dental health or want to schedule an exam, we’re here to help!
