About Cobb Veterinary Clinic

Cobb Veterinary Clinic started as a dream for our founder Robert L Cobb. Over the past 40 years, it has grown into a full-service hospital for equine, large animals, and small animals. It was Dr. Cobb’s dream to serve families and any four-legged animal that needed our veterinary care. We serve animals from the smallest dogs and cats to racehorses and bucking bulls and everything in between.

🐄 Heads up, cattle producers! Let's talk about pink eye🐄

Pink eye (infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis) 👀 is a common and highly contagious disease that is primarily caused by the bacteria Moraxella bovis. It spreads through face flies, direct contact, or irritation from dust and tall grass and can spread quickly throughout your herd. Infection can progress rapidly and requires prompt veterinary care to prevent permanent vision or even eye loss! 🚑

Pictured below is Abraham, a handsome angus bull 🐂 that came to the clinic with a severe case of pink eye that resulted in a penetrating corneal ulcer. Due to the severity of his infection and high risk of vision loss, Dr. Fernanda treated him with systemic and topical antibiotics💉,pain medications💊, and a third eyelid tack— a procedure that involves suturing the third eyelid to the outer skin to create a semi-permanent protective cover for the ulcerated eye ☀️ This procedure was done with the help of minimal sedation, lots of topical anesthetics and a highly efficient large animal crew!

Abraham’s eye is now on the way to recovery🥳

This is a great reminder of why routine puppy deworming is so important. Puppies can have intestinal parasites without showing obvious signs of illness, and hookworms can cause serious problems such as anemia, weakness, poor growth, and diarrhea.

This sample is a perfect example of why we recommend keeping puppies on an appropriate deworming and parasite-prevention schedule. ❤️

🩺 Don’t wait until your puppy looks sick! Regular f***l testing and veterinarian-recommended deworming can help protect your puppy—and some intestinal parasites can also infect people.
