Today we saw an email come through about a momma dog and her puppy.

The puppy named Dulce tested positive for Parvo and we weren't sure about mom. However the shelter said mom we've named Sopa had really bad liquid diarrhea.

We called our vet and they said bring them in.
Huge thanks to Town and Country as always 🙏

Sooooo we decided to say yes once again.
Call me crazy at any point now.
Literally hope we recover after this.

This mom came in with four puppies.

A rescue pulled three and we assume they didn't have space for the last pup and their mom.
We honestly don't know.
But it happens alot 😕

Anyway, Dulce has been admitted to get treatment for the Parvo.

Momma tested negative. We checked her fecals for everything else and it all came back negative.

She got a shot for the GI issues and Sub Q fluids and goes back again tomorrow for another round.
She is comfortably resting at her foster home.
She is severely under weight.

Then we'll monitor and hopefully she clears up. She's on special digestive care food to.

Her and her babies were brought into the shelter after being found living at a man camp in Midland County.

So here we are hoping to raise funds for our baby Dulce and her momma.
And praying this sweet little pup gets better soon.

If anyone can spare any amount we'd greatly appreciate it.
And ask if you could please share.

Here we are starting September

➡️We have several dogs needing more monthly preventatives.
More vaxx.
🐾Seven dogs will need HC'S/fecals to be able leave to go up north.
We pay $70 just for HC'S alone for each dog. F***l costs $32
Math all that together and well 😵‍💫

One dog is getting neutered this Friday plus a 4dx.

💲️Our current vet bill as of today is
$2,264.97
It'll go up today because we have Shelly going in for a health check
F***ls, 4dx and Credilio.
We saved her from our shelter last week.

We paid $2,800 on our bill last week. Scrounging together every dollar we can.
Thanks to so many generous people we were able to do that.🙏

To be honest I'm a bit worried about how much more we can keep doing this.
Seeing so many dogs in need. It's disheartening and God Bless our fosters who keep saying, I can take another.

For instance...
Rocky who came to us from the shelter with a broken leg.
Damn near bled to death in my car(that's not an exaggeration either) I'll include the photos so everyone knows we aren't lying.

His owner knew about him and decided he didn't want him anymore, go figure.

So we took him. Because we typically take alot of medical and senior dogs. Well we basically take all kinds.

We didn't hesitate and just wanted to save him. Being he was failed one to many times.

He was neutered on 8/28
Was supposed to have the pin in his leg removed.
Another infection has shown up in the compound fracture, so now he's on the aggressive antibiotics again.
Goes back 9/18 to HOPEFULLY have it removed. So he can finally heal, recover and get ready to head up north in Oct.
His bills adding up to 3k and we haven't come close to raising that.

One of our pups we recently saved, Jelly Bean luckily got his vetting fully sponsored. So he's good.

But so many others haven't.
And for the most part we understand people are basically tapped out. Donors are burnt out.

Every time you turn around someone in rescue is begging for money.
That's just the life in rescue. If we quit all together so many dogs will miss a second chance.

The amount of requests we get is mind blowing. We can't even read all the messages being sent to us.
We have a total of six foster homes. All with dogs we've saved.

We don't have unlimited space but we offer the best care we can give.

With all this being said
We are at it again trying to raise funds to get our vet bill paid down.
Get seven dogs up north to meet their new families.

Every dollar goes towards vetting, preventatives and food.

Even if you can't donate we understand.
A simple share can help. That one share may be seen by someone who can donate. Who has never heard of us and can see what we do.

Whatever the amount it's truly appreciated. We are always grateful to everyone who supports us and believes in our mission to save lives. ❤️

Photos of the many lives we've saved and in foster care.
Might not be as many as others have. But lives saved and that is what matters to us.

Rocky is doing great. He's happy again and not feeling abandoned and defeated.

Hi everyone
Jelly Bean here to tell everyone I finally got to leave the shelter today.

I have been such a good boy I left with an A+

And now I'm with my foster mom Kathie. And will start my new adventures and learn all new things and meet new fur friends.
Now the real work begins with puppy training.

Pretty sure I'll pass all my puppy schooling with flying colors.
I have so many new things to learn before I take my big trip up north to meet my new fur-ever family.

The vet trip was a breeze. Everyone was sooooo nice. Kissing me and then doing all the test thingy's.
Making sure I was healthy. Had my nails trimmed. That was such a relief because they were sure bothering me.

I'm on some kind of pill 💊 things to help me get rid of sumthin called Giardia, sounds icky 😝
But since it'll be wrapped in a yummy tasty treat, guess I'll go for it. I have to get rid of this icky parasite that seems to be the thing these days, that's just what I heard them say.

Everything else checked out great. I'm a plump 14.7lbs. That's way more than what I weighed at the shelter on my first day there. I was there 32 days, whoa!
Feels great to be outta there. My friends from the shelter wished me happy days ahead as they watched me leave.
And I'm gonna say some prayers 🙏 that all the great doggies there find homes.

My rescue fam says we still need a bunch of dollars to pay my vet bill. Hoping y'all can help them out.
Because I'm sure grateful to be enjoying this new thing called "rescued" 😊
And if you can help, here's the info

Happy National Dog Day 🐾🫶

What better way to help us celebrate, saving a shelter puppy.

Jelly Bean came into our local shelter several weeks ago.
He was in pretty rough shape and sickly.
Believe it or not, he had tested positive for Parvo. At the time we couldn't take him. It really got to us that we couldn't and had to come to the realization he'd probably be euthanized.

But guess what?
He wasn't euthanized. In fact, this little nugget survived it. He has remained in isolation through the course of these past several weeks. Day by day he improved. The shelter did several parvo tests and they continued to read negative.
Finding this out, we kept searching for a way to get him out.
And yesterday it all came together.
Our wonderful puppy foster made room for another ❤️
So today we are planning on getting him out to start his new life and adventures.

But of course as you know we have to get him checked out by our vet.
We need to have a few things done.
F***l tests
He'll need more puppy shots.
A monthly preventative.

We know we are constantly asking for funds. But hey, we're just trying to save some beautiful lives here. Because our shelter is so full and overwhelmed.
And so many dogs depend on us humans to help them.

So if anyone can spare just a few dollars, we'd greatly appreciate it.

We need approximately $250
To run all the tests, get his Credilio, and finish his puppy vaxx.

ADOPTED

Local foster needed for this sweet adorable boy.
Midland, Tx

We spent part of the day at our local shelter, just looking at so many amazing dogs.

All our fosters are full until our mid Sept transport.

We are wanting to help save another dog and looking for a foster for Butterball.
He's such a good boy. Kid friendly, has no reaction to other dogs and every time we visit him he just lays in his kennel so depressed.

He lived a rough life on the street, then ended up at the shelter.
So we want to give him his second chance and show him what the good life is all about 🥹

He's such a love bug. And one of our partner rescues up north would love to have him. So we'd need a foster until mid Oct, until he could leave on transport.

We can supply everything needed. Vetting, food and supplies.
We prefer you live in Midland or close to. And be able to take him to our vet for occasional vet appts.

If interested please fill out our foster app below
Must be approved. Must be indoor dog with access to outdoors occasionally.

Today we welcomed this beautiful girl named Shelly to our SDR family 🫶 🐾

Shelly came into our local shelter few weeks ago as a stray.
During her time there she was so quiet, so still.
And with each passing day she was more and more saddened.

We could see her. We watched her. And we knew we wanted to help her.
We were also able to spend time with her at Rescue Runners last Saturday and she was so gentle and sweet.

But at the time all our big dog fosters were full.
But as you know, we had Rizzo leave to her new family yesterday, which opened that foster home to taking another. To save another life and open that kennel up.

And today we gave Shelly her freedom ride to her new life and second chance.

Shelly will need to go to our vet Town and Country Vet
To get her 4dx, fecals, health check and monthly preventative and dog food.

She is already spayed and rabies vaccinated.

So we just need enough to cover her remaining vetting, food and Credilio which will run approximately $275

We appreciate any amount and ask if you can please share 🙏

Hi lovely supporters 💕

We have a new update on our sweet little senior, Lady.

Today was her follow up.
And it wasn't the news we wanted to hear 😔

After a thorough health check and a complete work up/bloodwork and functional tests.

The kidney numbers have elevated since her last round.
She will now be getting daily
Sub Q in smaller amounts.
And will go back in two weeks for another round of bloodwork.

And as far as diet and food, she pretty much eats select soft food that she enjoys.
We've placed her on Hospice foster care now.
She has slight doggie dementia now to.

Lady does enjoy her small trips outside and her fur friends.
But she mostly takes her naps on her extra comfy bed.
She sleeps more than she used to.

And we have an amazing hospice foster mom, who watches over her and is always making sure she's comfy.

We feel so very blessed and honored you might say.
To be the humans who took Lady in and able to give her whatever she needs in her time with us.

We don't know her time with us. We just know she is loved and cared for unconditionally.
She knows that to.

To think she was found wandering the dangerous dusty streets of Midland, Tx and survived is a miracle in itself.
A good Samaritan brought to the shelter in hopes to locate her owners.

Her owners were contacted. But for some reason they never came.
Seeing her so lonely in the shelter was heartbreaking and we knew she needed us.
We aren't angry, or here to talk about anyone in harsh ways.

We are here for Lady and that's all that matters to us. She is the loveliest little lady and we adore her 🥺🥹

With all this being said
The bills have to be paid. They accumulate quickly. Which is part of rescue. But to continue to keep helping more dogs in need, especially the special needs ones. We have to keep our acct paid.

Today's bill was $143
And we aren't sure what future bills will be.
But any amount of donation will help us out.
We would appreciate it if everyone could help share to.

If you'd like to contribute towards Lady we have several ways to donate below.
