✨ Important Policy Update ✨
To continue providing the best possible results and quality of service to all of our clients and for the pets best interest, we will be implementing a new scheduling policy.
Moving forward, we will only be accepting and maintaining clients who are able to stay on a consistent, but no longer than 10–12 week schedule. (Also this is addressed more toward the babies needing haircuts, bath & brush dogs will be up to groomer discretion. We understand some breeds are easier to maintain at home between professional grooming. Please feel free to reach out/ask your personal pet’s recommended schedule). Staying within this timeframe is essential to achieving the best results and allows us to properly plan and manage our schedules.
We understand that life gets busy, and we truly appreciate everyone who supports our business! However, consistency is important, and we need our clients to prioritize their appointments accordingly.
Thank you for understanding and respecting this new policy. We appreciate your continued trust and support, and we look forward to working with clients who are committed to maintaining their recommended schedule! 💙✨

Last minute opening for today at 12:30 if any furry friends need a grooming! Who want to snag it?!

10/01/2026

How are we in October already?! A few updates we wanted to let you all know,

-We will be closed Friday 10/2 & Saturday 10/3. Sorry for any inconveniences this may cause. But your girls will be celebrating a friend up in Traverse City this weekend! We will be soaking in all the beautiful fall colors and cooler weather. We will reopen tuesday 10/6 with regular business hours. Apologies for any inconveniences this may cause.

-Some of you may have heard, we have another groomer starting with us! We are super excited to be able to add to the Fur-Tastic family, and to be able to serve you better! As happy as I am that I am busy/booked out, I'm not happy about having to tell you guys that and making your furbabies wait to get taken care of.

-We now carry OPAWZ pet safe dye! Now this is a permanent/ semi permanent color that will last anywhere from 6-20 washes depending. (Unless we trim it off to start fresh). This also is possible for darker colored dogs with their lightening cream! Prices will vary depending on sizes/number of places dyed, so ask for a quote! It will just need to be discussed at time of booking so we can schedule accordingly. I cant wait to start playing around with more of the fun stuff! (I personally wanna make my pretty girl leopard print!)

With great sadness i have decided to look for a new loving family for Sadie. We took sadie in about 2 months ago from a client who could not longer care for her to the best of his abilities. Sadie is a great little girl and we dont really want to lose her but we feel she would be happier with someone who could spend more time with her than we can. She is a doxipoo and will be 11 in October. We got her eating dog food, up to date on shots, spayed, and teeth cleaned. She does have some anxiety(we have her on reconcile to see if it helps), mostly separation and being in Kennels. She can be kenneled but doesn't care for it. She is great left out in the house too, doesn't get into anything or have accidents. She loves being outside and is happy to lay around. She just wants someone to sleep with! She does prefer men. But is happy with everyone. She also gets along with cats, other dogs, and kids. Ideally someone retired or that works from home would probably be the best fit. If you want to open your heart and home to this happy old girl let me know and id love to have you meet her!

What's on my mind? Facebook asks us that, and well there's a lot. We all have a lot on our mind, don't we? It seems everyone I know feels the same, one more thing you can't forget to do today, can't forget the kids sports/meals/homework/dr appt., when is $ due for this/that, oh I have to get gas, GAS IS SO EXPENSIVE, ect ect. Life happens, life gets in the way. We understand that.

But one thing thats been on my mind? Grooming. Obviously right?! I do it and see it all day long. Well unfortunately its something thats been weighing even more heavily on me lately. There has been (unfortunately) an influx of dogs coming in matted. Dogs that haven't been to the groomers in 4, 6, 8, 12 months! Dogs require regular grooming. Whether you do it yourself or at a professional shop IS your choice. But it needs to be done properly, and maintained. The less you want to do at home, the MORE they should be at the salon. We dont always have to do a full huge short cut/groom. Smelly pooch? Regular bathing, a brushing, nails clacking on the floor? Nail trimming is included. Can't see? We can trim just by the eyes! Di*********es? That gets take care of too! These are all signs its time to be groomed. Baths and nails are recommended to be done monthly, while hair cutting can range from 4-8 weeks normally. This also includes non-haircut dogs as well! That super fluffy husky? Your friendly lab? They are dropping hair all over your house/clothes/couch. Have a hoard of lint rollers stashed around? Dogs hair life cycle is every 21 days. After that its trying to leave the body. Where does it go? Either your house or it stays trapped in the dogs coat, which turns into compaction. We also look at every inch of your dog while it's with us and can usually find things of concern before they are found at home.

We understand things get put on the backburner, those who cant speak for themselves get forgotten, so when we say we recommend rebooking your next appointment/coming back in so many weeks it's not just because we want your money. (I mean we do, dont get me wrong this is how I pay my bills). But its for the health and safety of the pet. Matting can be painful amongst other things. And the infrequent groom sessions then become a nuisance for the dog. They dont like going, they are scared/anxious, they dont know how to behave on the table, they feel funny after leaving(you know that feeling when you take your hair out of a tight ponytail at the end of the day and your scalp tingles and you just want to scratch it? Yeah that!). Why would they want to come back and do it all over again?! And its harder on us groomers as well. Physically and mentally. We can start grooming services as early as 8 weeks of age, and frequent visits become a normal part of life. Something they can be prepared for and know what to expect.

Apologies for the rambling but I feel compelled to write this and advocate for those who can't speak for themselves in the case that you or someone you know is simply uneducated. We can't reach everyone outside our doors. But if we can reach some, well thats what makes our job worth it. Yes you should be researching all of this info before settling on a breed and acquiring a dog. But not everyone does that. Unfortunately, also, breeders tend to tell you grooming is only necessary 1-2 times a year. Vets unfortunately tell you to wait until the dog is fully vaccinated (normally around the age of 6 months) to start getting tne dog groomed, and they only need it 2-3 times a year around season changes or something. Well guess what, at that age they need a full haircut and are going to be way to scared or so excited for a new adventure they're too wiggly to groom. Their vaccines have started, they already have some protection from mom, there's no interaction with other dogs, and where on Earth(sorry for my eyerolling) is your dog gonna get rabies or give it to a groomer at 3 months old. We wholeheartedly recommend you listen to your vet when it comes to medical advice. We also go to them with our furbabies. But neither of these professions are trained in skin/coat health. (Vets have minimal training in this area and thats why there is a dermatology specialist in the animal field). We groomers are. We are trained, we take classes to further our education, we get certifications.

Well now that's off my chest lol I hope if you didn't learn something from this post you may be able to pass along to someone who is thinking about getting a dog or you see a dog in need of grooming and the parent doesn't know. We appreciate every pair of feet and 4 paws that come through our door. We just want everyone to be healthy & happy. 🥰

WELCOME NEWCOMERS!
We have been meeting a ton of new furry friends and are thrilled! I just thought I'd post on here some of our general information that any new or potential new clients may be looking for. But if we missed something or you have further inquiries please dont hesitate to call/text 616-558-0889/Facebook message!

Our typical hours are Tuesday-Friday 9-5. And Saturday 8-1. We do take one weekend a month and/or holiday weekends off. We are a very small business and just like you things come up. We have to work around doctors appointments, family events, extreme weather and sicknesses as well. We try to stick to our schedule as closely as possible but there may be a random day we close early or altogether. We aim to update our platforms to the best of our availabilities. As many people know our schedule and just pop in, this may cause inconveniences if we happen to be closed. We welcome you to text/call/message before you drive over to save yourself the trip. But if your fur baby loves car rides, take the chance im sure they will love it either way!

Our grooming includes the bath with high quality shampoo and conditioner based upon each dogs individual needs, blowdry, brushout, haircut(if applicable), nail trimming, ear plucking and/or cleaning. We also strive for grooming your pet straight through and limiting kennel time as much as possible.

Pricing will vary depending on size, coat condition, temperment for grooming, and style of haircut. Below is a rough price chart;

We happily take small services shown above as a walk in service. Please feel free to come at any time during operating business hours and we will get you taken care of quickly! Again, if you want to make sure we are there before coming just text/call/message and we can let you know!

We do require a credit/debit card kept on file in case of no shows/last minute cancellations at time of booking.

We appreciate more than words can express all the referrals and kind things you all have to say. It is truly a blessing to run on basically no active advertising on our part.
