Middletown Veterinary Hospital

Our veterinary technicians are here to support the doctors, the patients, and their families! Please show your thanks and drop them a note when you're in the office this week or anytime! In any part of the Middletown Veterinary Hospital campus, you will find them working to solve problems to ensure your pet's best outcome. They may be nursing and checking vitals, drawing blood, doing ultrasounds, assisting with dentals, working in surgery, caring for boarded or impatient pets, helping someone welcome their new puppy, or helping a family say goodbye to their best friend.
They chose this profession out of their love for the animals. Happy Vet Tech Appreciation week everyone!!

Today's annual reminder to care for yourself and others with kindness is very special to us. What does your pet do that boosts your oxytocin?

While pets bring joy to all of us, the stress of patient and client care can take a mental and emotional toll on veterinary professionals. Maintaining mental health and wellness is so important to those in veterinary medicine. 🐾🩺🥼

We always strive to spread kindness, compassion, and empathy and we ask everyone else to do the same. 🥰

Kindness counts! Want to share a kind word about a member of our team to brighten their day? Please comment below! 💚

"Thank you to Middletown Veterinary Hospital and the above and beyond amazing staff for the care they gave Marley today and to all of our dogs. Having a veterinary partner we always can call on means everything. We could not do this work without you." 🥹🐾💞

We here at Middletown Vet support and partner with rescues like this because they have the power to change lives! Please remember to support your favorite rescues and be part of the answer to the cruelness of others. Animals and pets deserve the best care and most love from their communities. ❤️‍🩹

It’s been a very long day, but we’re ending it with full hearts. Marley is doing so well. The decrease in his swelling has been remarkable, and this little boy’s gentle spirit and will to keep trying to be brave have completely stolen our hearts.

After being able to spend time with him and assess, we are feeling great about his recovery. So far, he does not appear to be showing signs of lasting neurological damage. We’ll continue monitoring him closely, including watching for any seizure activity, but we have so much hope for this sweet boy and the life ahead of him.

Thank you to Middletown Veterinary Hospital and the above and beyond amazing staff for the care they gave Marley today and to all of our dogs. Having a veterinary partner we always can call on means everything. We could not do this work without you.

To our loving community: we asked for help, and you came through. You met our plea with kindness and generosity. Because of you, we can give Marley what he needs. Because of you, this baby is sleeping soundly tonight with the brightest future ahead.

It is so moving to watch a puppy who has suffered this much become surrounded by people who care. Every donation, every share, every person rooting for him has helped make that possible.

Thank you for helping us help the ones who need it most. Marley has an entire community behind him now, and we are so grateful.

♥️

🩷 Community counts! Care for all the animals and support TNR, spaying, neutering, and adopting. All options help kitties in our area on Meow Mondays and every day 😺

😺 Happy Meow Monday wishes from Willow! When The Cat Distribution System first started targeting our hospital front desk manager, Michelle, it brought this beauty to her home! Willow had the honor of being the first feral kitty she started caring for. What a leader Willow has been now for others! 😽 With Michelle's patient nature, Willow began to trust her new human and enter Michelle's heart and home. 🏡
So when you hear feral, don't always think stray and human avoidant. Many cats need homes with patient humans who can provide safety and introduce them to contact and love! Others need community volunteers to help their cat colonies survive and get access to the TNR services in our area. If you see a cat outside who has a tipped ear, it means they have been part of a Trap-Neuter-Return program. Please always spay and neuter pets if they aren't already!

📸 Show us your black dogs! 🖤 October always begins with National Black Dog Day to remind us that black dogs are often overlooked in the shelter and need the love too! Did you adopt a black dog? Piper was adopted from rescue in 2023! Here she was looking for friends out in our parking lot when visiting for her annual exam 🥼🩺♥️ She will be seeing her friends in grooming for her next spa day soon! 🖤

🕸️ In October there is one thing that's way spookier than spiderwebs... mosquitoes! 🦟 They can carry heartworm disease and spread it to your pets. Long worms like spaghetti develop, grow, and live inside your pet's heart. 🫀Don't stop their protection and preventative medications just because it's autumn!!
