Labor Day weekend is almost here! We wanted to give our VidaVet families a heads-up about our holiday hours so you can plan accordingly. 💙

🍪 Meet Biscuit! 🍪🐾

This adorable Cavapoo puppy came to see us because his tummy was feeling a little less than happy. 🥺💙

Luckily, Biscuit was in good hands—and he was more than happy to accept some extra love and attention while we figured out how to get that puppy belly feeling better!

We hope you're back to your playful, happy self soon, sweet Biscuit! 🐶💕

🎒🐱 Tiny backpack... BIG personality! 🐱🎒

Sweet little Luna came to see us rocking the cutest tiny backpack, and honestly... we can't stop thinking about what she might be carrying in there. 😻

🐱💙 Sometimes the best medicine is a little extra love. 💙🐱

Sweet Clyde came to see us for some urinary concerns, and while our team worked on helping him feel better, assistant Abril made sure he got plenty of comfort and cuddles along the way. 🥹

Veterinary visits can be stressful, especially when you're not feeling your best. That's why our team takes every opportunity to help our patients feel safe, loved, and cared for—not just medically, but emotionally too.

We're so glad we could be there for you, Clyde, and we hope you're back to feeling like your happy, playful self soon! 🐾💕

A little compassion can go a long way... and we'd say these snuggles were pretty good medicine, too. ❤️

🐾💙 Meet Nala! 💙🐾

Sweet Nala came to see us for an ear infection, and while she was a little nervous about her visit, she quickly found her safe place... Chris' lap. 🥹❤️

Sometimes the best medicine starts with a little extra love. Between plenty of gentle snuggles, reassurance, and Fear Free handling, Nala began to relax and let us help her feel better.

We're happy to report that Nala left with a treatment plan for her ears—and maybe a new best friend, too. 🐶💕

At VidaVet, we know that caring for our patients means caring for their emotions just as much as their medical needs. Thank you, Chris, for giving Nala the comfort she needed! 🐾💙

🐾💕 Meet Nixie! 💕🐾

This adorable 4-month-old kitten stopped by to see us, and she brought a little something extra... extra toes! 😻

Nixie is polydactyl, which means she was born with more toes than the average cat. Most cats have 18 toes (5 on each front paw and 4 on each back paw), but polydactyl cats have additional toes due to a naturally occurring genetic trait. These extra "toe beans" often make their paws look like they're wearing adorable little mittens! 🧤🐾

Here are a few fun facts about polydactyl cats:

🐾 It's genetic! Polydactyly is caused by an autosomal dominant gene, meaning if one parent is polydactyl, their kittens have about a 40–50% chance of inheriting those extra toes.

🐾 Any cat can have it! Polydactyly isn't limited to a specific breed or coat color. While it's commonly associated with Maine C***s, this unique trait can occur in cats of any breed.

🐾 Usually harmless. Most polydactyl cats live completely normal, healthy lives. The only thing to keep an eye on is their nails—sometimes the extra toes can cause nails to grow in unusual directions, so routine nail trims are important.
