🐾💙 Happy National Veterinary Technician Week! 💙🐾

October 18–24 is National Veterinary Technician Week, and this week is all about celebrating the incredible veterinary technicians who are truly at the heart of veterinary medicine.

At VidaVet, we are incredibly fortunate to have a team of technicians who bring endless compassion, expert care, knowledge, skill, and so much heart to everything they do. From the moment a patient walks through our doors to the moment they head home, our technicians are there—comforting nervous pets, advocating for their patients, supporting their families, assisting with procedures, monitoring anesthesia, educating clients, catching the little things others may miss, and somehow managing to do a million things at once. ❤️

But what makes our technicians so special isn't just what they do—it's how they do it.

They hold a paw when a pet is scared.
They offer a gentle voice when a family is worried.
They celebrate the good news right alongside their patients' families.
They stay calm when things get difficult.
They laugh, cry, problem-solve, learn, teach, and show up for their patients and their teammates every single day.

Our technicians are often the quiet heroes behind the scenes, and so much of what makes exceptional veterinary care possible happens because of them. They are the compassion, expertise, and heart that help bring VidaVet’s mission to life. 🐾

Thank you for the countless patients you care for, the families you support, the teammates you lift up, and the love you pour into this profession. Veterinary medicine simply would not be the same without you. ❤️

Happy National Veterinary Technician Week! We are so proud to have you on our team. 🥹🐶🐱🐾

🧚‍♀️💕 Tinkerbelle came to see us... and discovered the cheese department. 🧀😂

This adorable 11-year-old Pomeranian mix came to VidaVet for an a**l gland abscess, but we're pretty sure the real reason she stayed was for the cheese. 😋🧀

Tinkerbelle was an absolute sweetheart and made sure everyone knew that medical treatment is much more enjoyable when snacks are involved!

We're happy we could help get her feeling more comfortable—and even happier that she approved of our cheese selection. 🐾💙

Feel better soon, sweet Tinkerbelle! 🧀💕

🌙✨ Luna has entered the building... and brought the coolest mohawk with her! ✨🌙

This beautiful cream-colored dachshund had us doing double takes when she walked through the door. 😍

Those adorable little legs? 🥹
That sweet face? 💕
That MOHAWK?! 🤘🐶

We're officially obsessed with Luna's look. She's giving us equal parts rock star and tiny sausage. 😂🐾

10/10 for the hairstyle, Luna! 💙

❤️🐾 Sweet P*e Wee's pyometra story 🐾❤️

At 11 years old, this sweet terrier mix came to VidaVet feeling very sick and was diagnosed by Dr. Sorensen with pyometra, a serious and potentially life-threatening infection of the uterus.

Pyometra can occur in unspayed female dogs (and cats) and is most commonly seen after a heat cycle. Hormonal changes can create an environment where bacteria can grow within the uterus, causing a severe infection. Signs can include lethargy, decreased appetite, increased thirst or urination, vomiting, abdominal enlargement, and sometimes vaginal discharge—but not every pet will have obvious discharge.

Pyometra is considered a veterinary emergency and typically requires surgery to remove the infected uterus and ovaries, along with supportive care such as fluids and antibiotics.

For P*e Wee, surgery was the best option to get her feeling better, so Dr. Sorensen performed her surgery—and we're thrilled to say this brave senior girl did GREAT! 🥹💕 She recovered beautifully and is on her way back to feeling like herself.

We're so proud of you, P*e Wee! Keep feeling better, sweet girl. 🐶💗

Pet parent tip: If your unspayed female pet is showing signs of illness, especially after a recent heat cycle, don't wait to have her evaluated. Early veterinary attention can make a huge difference. 🩺🐾
