Shampooch Paw Spa “Grooming With A Loving Touch”

At Shampooch, we provide high-quality grooming rooted in patience and respect. Owner Christina Gobar has always loved animals.

Our goal is to promote the well-being of every pet through a gentle, stress-free experience that makes them feel as good as they look. Since graduating from CT Canine Grooming School in 2008, she has worked at both small and large grooming salons, gaining insight into the industry and practices. After working at a national chain, she quickly realized that a local shop can offer more personalized and higher quality services. Christina then transferred to Dirty Tails in Plainville, CT, where she has been grooming and tuning her techniques for over 12 years. With a burning desire to own and operate her own business, Christina is proud to announce that Shampooch Paw Spa, is open at 779 Newfield Street in Middletown, CT. When customers were asked, “why do you bring your dog to Christina?”, their response was unanimous: Because she loves every dog like her own. Christina is excited to begin this new venture, with the wonderful opportunity to give every dog the restful spa day they deserve

🎉 BIG NEWS, MIDDLETOWN! WE’RE EXPANDING! 📰

We are beyond thrilled to announce that we’ve officially signed the lease for the unit next door, and the remodel is already underway! 🔑🛠️🪚

While we’ll miss our wonderful neighbor dearly as she moves to Smith St. for a larger studio as well (huge congrats, Amber! 💐), we’re so excited to take this big step forward. ⭐️

First and most importantly: THANK YOU to our amazing, loyal, and pawsome clients! 🙏🏽❤️ Your continued love and support have caused us to burst at the seams, making this expansion possible so we can continue provide even more top-notch services for your fur babies. 🐾🛁

This expansion is more than a dream come true for our owner, Christina. When Shampooch Paw Spa opened in 2022, her vision truly came to fruition—and it has grown bigger and better than she ever could have imagined! Her baby has really grown up. 🥹
Christina’s incredibly hard work, unwavering dedication, compassion, and pure passion for pets and their top-tier care have helped her soar far beyond her goals. As a team, we couldn't be happier for her and the shop’s success or be more proud to call her our boss. Without her, we wouldn’t be able to go on this incredible journey all together - we’re so excited and ready for it! 💪🏽🥳

Here’s to more space, more pampered pups, even better “spaw” days and many more years together. Cheers to the future, Middletown! From our family to yours, thank you so much for allowing us to be part of you and your furry best friend’s life! We look forward to continue providing the absolute best for you. 🥂💖🐶🐱🫧✂️

✨✂️ Talk About A Total Glow-Up! ✂️✨

Benjie the Doodle came in for a Full Service groom recently, and he was an absolute superstar! From scruffy and extra fluffy to neat, fresh, and sporting his sharp new bandana, he walked out looking like a million bucks thanks to his wonderful groomer, Andrea. ¡Te ves muy bien, Benjie! 🐶💖

There’s nothing we love more than seeing such an amazing transformation and making sure our pups feel just as good as they look! 🩵

✨🐾Look at that big, happy smile! 🐾✨

Meet Bronco, a handsome 2-year-old Golden Retriever who stopped by for his very first Maintenance Service recently! ✂️

First-time grooming visits can be a little intimidating, and Bronco was understandably a bit nervous when he first walked through the door. But thanks to his sweet nature and the caring, attentive touch of his groomer, Carrie, he turned into the bravest boy and handled everything like an absolute champ! 💪🏽😄

Just look at him in the tub—he was all smiles getting a nice, relaxing full-body rub and scrub! 🛁🧼❤️

He quickly learned that bath time comes with lots of extra love and feels great too! Bronco was such a good, sweet boy throughout his whole visit, and we are so proud of him. We already can’t wait to see this happy face again soon! 🐶💛

🕊️Remembering the Heroes of 9/11: 25 Years Later 🇺🇸

On this 25th anniversary of September 11, we pause to honor the memory of the lives lost and the incredible bravery shown by our first responders. Today, we also share a special tribute to the four-legged heroes who served tirelessly in the aftermath. ⛑️🚨👮‍♂️👩‍🚒🚑🚔🚒🐾

Along with horses used for security and perimeter control, to therapy animals used to offer comfort amidst the devastation, hundreds of certified search and rescue dogs worked at Ground Zero and the Pentagon, using their incredible senses to navigate the debris and offer comfort to first responders. Their dedication, resilience, and unwavering spirit brought a glimmer of hope during our darkest days. 🐾🙏🩶🐶🐴

We will never forget their service or their sacrifice. 🫡🐾❤️🤍💙

✨🐾 Look at that million-dollar smile! 🐾✨

Meet BMO, the sweetest 9-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix! True to his name like BMO the device, BMO the dog loves a good adventure and is the most loyal buddy you could ever ask for! This adorable little wiggle worm always brightens up our day the second he steps into the shop. 🥰☀️

He came in for a well deserved pre-vacation spa day—a nice warm bath with a deep scrub and massage, followed by a relaxing blow dry and thorough brush out, complete with a nail file and a gland expression. Now he’s feeling like a million bucks and the “Fur-ce” is strong with BMO! 🤓🌌⚔️🩶

Watch out, world—he’s squeaky clean, ready for his next big quest, and set to hit the town to break some hearts with that handsome face! 💙🐶
