We've all seen the videos of zoo animals offering a leg for blood draws or holding still for x-rays and it's so cute, right? This is a concept called cooperative husbandry, and we can actually teach our pets how to do it too! What starts out as a fun trick to learn at home can be easily used in the clinic to give our pets something else to focus on, making treatments and procedures less stressful for you, your pet, and your vet team.
Here we see Captain practicing his "touch" command so mom can easily apply a topical spray on his irritated skin. Keep checking back for more videos of Captain showcasing cooperative husbandry!
