The derby will also serve as the final leg of the $7,500 Thoroughbred Triple Crown Challenge, sponsored by The Green Group.

The Triple Crown Challenge recognizes the Thoroughbreds with the highest cumulative scores across Virginia’s three premier Thoroughbred Hunter Derbies:

🐎 Warrenton Horse Show
🐎 Middleburg Classic Horse Show

The $7,500 Triple Crown Challenge Award will be presented immediately following the $20,000 Middleburg Classic Thoroughbred Hunter Derby.

Part of the OTTB ReStart Clinic Series at Great Meadow

Join us at Great Meadow for an exclusive OTTB Foundational Foxhunting Clinic with Instructor Natalie Wales!

This unique clinic begins with a ""Reverse Tailgate""—bringing participants together before they ride to recreate the informal educational conversations that traditionally happen after a hunt. Riders will have the opportunity to ask questions, learn the customs and culture of foxhunting, and gain confidence before ever putting a foot in the stirrup.

The mounted portion then transitions into the field, where participants experience riding as a group in working hunt territory, practicing the skills and etiquette that prepare both horse and rider for a successful first day with the hunt.

What a day! 🐎✨

Thoroughbred Day at Brigadoon was everything we hoped it would be and more. We were thrilled to welcome such a fantastic group of riders and auditors for a full day dedicated to off-track Thoroughbreds.

The morning featured our higher-height session, followed by lunch where everyone had the chance to connect, share stories, and learn from one another before kicking off the afternoon’s lower-height session. It was incredible to watch each partnership grow in confidence throughout the day under the guidance of Jazz Napravnik.

A huge thank you to everyone who rode, audited, volunteered, and supported this event. Your enthusiasm and love for Thoroughbreds made the day so special. We can’t wait to do it again!
