🚨 IMPORTANT EQUINE HEALTH UPDATE: EHV OUTBREAK & PRECAUTIONS 🚨
Klepinger Equine Services | Dentistry • Nutrition • Wellness

With the recent Equine Herpesvirus (EHV) outbreak reported in the region, we want to ensure all our clients stay informed and take appropriate precautions to protect their horses. EHV is a serious, highly contagious virus that spreads quickly through direct contact, shared equipment, and even airborne droplets in close environments.

Your horse’s health and safety are always our top priority, and being proactive is the best defense.

🙏🏻PLEASE NOTE WE ARE KEEPING CURREN APPTS AND STILL SEEING CLIENTS

🔵 What You Should Do Right Now

✔ Limit travel — Avoid hauling to shows, clinics, or unnecessary barn-to-barn travel until the situation stabilizes.
✔ Quarantine new horses — Isolate newcomers for at least 21–28 days.
✔ Avoid shared equipment — Do NOT share buckets, tack, grooming tools, or trailers.
✔ Practice strict hygiene — Wash hands between horses, disinfect equipment, and monitor anyone coming in/out of the barn.
✔ Check temperatures daily — Fever is often the earliest sign.
✔ Minimize visitors — Farriers, vets, dentists, and other professionals should disinfect between stops. If we are scheduled to see your horse and your barn has had exposure, please notify us immediately st 904-327-9116.

🔵 Signs to Watch For
• Fever
• Nasal discharge
• Lethargy
• Hind-end weakness
• Incoordination or difficulty standing
• Loss of appetite
• Coughing

If your horse shows any symptoms, contact your veterinarian right away.

🔵 Our Commitment at Klepinger Equine

We are taking extra precautions during this time, including:
• Enhanced disinfection between farm calls
• Adjusted scheduling to reduce barn-to-barn exposure
• Strict hygiene protocols before entering each property
• Immediate rescheduling if there is any risk of exposure

Your trust means everything to us. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep our clients updated.

🔵 Protect your horses. Protect your barn. Protect the community.

If you have any questions or need guidance, we’re here for you.

NOTICE TO OUR CLIENTS:

Routine dental care is crucial to your horse's overall comfort and well-being. When regular floating is delayed, additional corrective work is often necessary to restore the mouth to balance.

Due to excessive past due dentals and the work having to be spent correcting, starting November 1, 2025, there will be an additional corrective fee applied if extra work is needed due to overdue or neglected dental care.

We strongly encourage maintaining your horse's routine dental schedule to avoid discomfort, ensure optimal performance, and prevent additional costs.

Thank you for trusting us to keep your horses healthy!

Understanding the Importance of Regular Check-Ups

Did you know that horses under 10 years of age undergo significant dental changes? Regular 6-month check-ups are crucial. Here’s why:
- Prevent Pain: Young horses often develop sharp enamel points that can cause mouth discomfort.
- Avoid Performance Issues: Dental pain can lead to poor eating habits, weight loss, and even performance problems.
- Catch Problems Early: Regular visits help spot issues such as misalignments early on, saving you time and money in the long run.

Choosing regular dental check-ups demonstrates your commitment to your horse’s well-being. Let’s work together to give your horse a healthy future. Ready to book a session? Call or text us at 904-327-9116. Learn more at www.equinedentist01.com. 🐴💪
