KL Training Training from the ground to the saddle, into any discipline you and your horse are wanting to go. Hello! My name is Krystal Leitzel. Thank you everyone!!

After training under and with many fantastic trainers for the past 20+ years and continuing clinics with some of the best such as Laura Ashley Killian, I have finally gone under my own name. This page is completely updated to show only the horses I personally trained and/or sold, my students, and the shows I put together along the way. For those who do not know my background, I have a strong foundation in Dressage that was always directed towards Eventing and has helped me greatly in the Jumpers. Recently I have also added some gaming and western pleasure to the mix. I worked and trained primarily with Diane Sulouff learning how to breed and train horses under the German standard, from Cia Reese's Arabians used for endurance, to draft cross stallions needing green broke, before expanding to the hunters under a couple different wonderful bosses/trainers from Lewisburg to Maryland. My next stop and my true love was found as the barn manager/assistant trainer at After the Races where I got to ride with 5* eventer Lisa Ferguson. I have continued rehabbing and working with OTTBs ever since. I then returned to Walnut Hollow Farm where I have been the trainer and assistant instructor for the past three years. Now it is onto bigger and better things that you will all get to see step by step!

Understand that the horse's best interest and needs are always first priority with me.

Greed has no place in horse training.

The fastest way to hold a horse back is to ask for more than it's ready to give. Every horse learns at a different pace, and the ones that last are built through patience, consistency, and doing right by the horse—not by rushing the process.

Don't let your goals get bigger than your horsemanship.

The best horsemen aren't greedy. They know when to ask for more, when to reward, and when to call it a day.

Put the horse first. The results will follow.

Token update from his new family!
Token has been lovingly renamed Navajo, and has taken to his new home and job so well that he took his first client on a wtc trail ride, and gave a pony ride after! It seems his new home is a perfect fit, and he will never have to worry about being put in the auction pipeline ever again! I couldn't be happier that such great people came along for this great pony, who just looks so happy with them!!

Lilac update!
Tomorrow she is 2 months old, and she is a brave little lovebug who will cuddle anyone, and try anything! She leads, plays with the exercise ball, stands for grooming and feet to be picked, and thinks single crossties are meant for teething toys 😂 enjoy this video of the best women throwing something new at her😍 Thank you Maria Fultz and Jamie Fultz for always being up for baby playtime!
