You guys… our hearts are so full!! Susan Haines and Tish Ciccotelli PACKED the pick-up truck and headed to New Hampshire today to Old Dogs Go To Helen. Their experience was beyond words. The sanctuary was amazing, their mission was inspiring and the energy left them sp*echless. Between all the sweet hospice patients, the memorial rainbow bench and the farm… there could not have been a better place to receive all of the donations. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! Without you, Lakeville Animal Hospital and Deep Pond Farm and Stables we would not have been this successful! Please continue to support the sanctuary as much as possible… they deserve it!

Just wanted to say we are so very appreciative of all the donations for Old Dogs Go To Helen collected here, Lakeville Animal Hospital and Deep Pond Farm and Stables! Old Dogs Go To Helen has experienced some unimaginable losses these past few weeks. So let’s try to brighten their moods and show them their dedication and mission is truly awe inspiring! We are still collecting until Monday August 31st. Tuesday the truck will be packed. And Wednesday September 2nd, the truck will head up to New Hampshire. No donation is too small. Our main drive is for supplies that the sanctuary needs but we have also started taking monetary donations (we will hand them a money order for the total) and/or gift cards. Please help out if you can. And don’t forget to head to their page to show them love and support. We couldn’t have done this without all of you and without Susan Haines!

To all our amazing friends and clients… we have recently learned of a non-profit organization, Old Dogs Go To Helen in New Hampshire and it really touched our hearts. They are a sanctuary for senior and hospice dogs who deserve love and care “no matter how old, sick or let's face it, stinky, they can be.” They want to make sure they get to live the very best life possible while they still can. We would like to help these unsung heroes and their furry ones so we are going to start a donation drive. We are looking for supplies: i.e.: p*e pads, laundry detergent, disinfectants, baby wipes, paper towels, antibacterial wipes, new pet beds, new blankets, towels, bandage material, and canned dog food… Any and every little bit helps. Our goal is to be able to deliver a truck load by the end of August. They have an Amazon wishlist if you are unable to get to the clinic during business hours with a donation. Please visit their FaceBook page and/or their website and show Helen, her family and those sweet elderly and sickly dogs some love!

🐈‍⬛ ✨ A Tale of Ellie and her Kitties ✨🐈‍⬛
We met sweet Eleanor about one year ago with her new cat, Saber. (She also had Saber’s brother, Sunny, at home) Saber came to us with an eye issue. And during that first visit, Ellie came with her own doctor bag to help examine Saber. Dr. Johnson took time to talk with Ellie and show her each step of the exam. After a few visits, it was determined that Saber had ocular FIP and was going to be treated through his rescue. The treatment was new and Saber had to visit us frequently for weigh-ins to make sure there weren’t any adverse effects. Ellie, Saber and their parents became close with the staff and Dr Johnson. Saber went on to have a full recovery from the FIP infection, but then soon hurt his knee. So, treatment for the injury had them coming back into the office frequently again. Soon after healing from his knee injury, Saber’s brother, Sunny became very ill. We saw him briefly and then sent him to CCVS on emergency. It was there that they discovered Sunny had Feline Leukemia (after testing negative for it through the rescue) and would ultimately succumb to the illness. Our focus then turned back to Saber. Due to being litter mates and housemates it was imperative we figure out if he had Feline Leukemia as well. Unfortunately, he tested positive. About one month later, right before what would have been the brother’s second birthday, we lost Saber.
Everyone was heartbroken at this loss. It was felt through every one of us. But what was incredible to watch was how Ellie was so brave and so understanding of her tragic situation. Ellie and her family took this time to heal - the traumatic events of the past year were too much.
Then two weeks ago, an unexpected surprise occurred. We had a gentleman reach out stating he has some kittens that were in need of a loving home. Of course we couldn’t turn them away and had him bring them in. Two of the sweetest 8 week old kittens arrived - one male orange and one female gray tabby. The first person to come to any of our minds was Ellie. She had told her mom that when they were ready she would love a “ginger” cat and boy did that little orange kitten fit the criteria. We ran tests and made sure they were healthy and then planned our surprise. While at first, Ellie was just the slightest bit hesitant, she couldn’t hold back from the cuteness. Ellie and her family took both babies and are so in love - we just couldn’t be happier for them. Sometimes the best way to heal a broken heart is to add fur. Saber and Sunny will never be forgotten. They paved the way for us to build a wonderful relationship with a truly great family.
