We'll be CLOSED all weekend, folks! Our to-do list got a crazy long and, let's face it, we're just not gonna make it to the finish line by noon. Please know the fur babies are perfectly fine, it's just us humans who are running on fumes lol!

Hope shines brightly in the most challenging situations, and at Fried's Cat Shelter, we're driven by the unwavering dedication to finding forever homes for every feline friend. Just like children in a daycare setting, shelter cats can be susceptible to illnesses despite our best efforts, but this doesn't deter us. Our commitment to transparency about any known health concerns remains unwavering, as we strive for successful, lifelong placements that bring joy to both cats and their adopters. We've made a remarkable start, rescuing 39 cats from a single location and now, today we got 25 more from the same home who are on their way to new beginnings after theu receive comprehensive veterinary care. Our prayer is that these beautiful creatures find loving homes where they'll be cherished and given a second chance at happiness. We have many wonderful adult cats waiting for a lap to call home and a heart to love them. Our promise to transparency stays strong, and while the future can't be predicted, we're devoted to caring for every cat that enters our doors and finding them safe, loving, forever homes.

📣Technical Difficulties 🚨💻😬

Today's shelter emergency is not cats...it's technology.

Our phones and internet are currently down, which means we are unable to process adoptions or access the systems we need to operate. Because of this, Fried's Cat Shelter will be CLOSED to the public today.

Before anyone worries: all cats are fine. All humans are fine. The only thing currently in critical condition is our internet connection The cats would like everyone to know that the outage did not affect breakfast.

We will update everyone about tomorrow as soon as service is restored. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we wait for crews to do their repairs.

Keep an eye on our page for next Friday's available kittens post... We are about ready to have a completely unreasonable number of kittens ready for adoption... we're talking "did someone accidently leave the kitten faucet running?" levels of kittens...stay tuned!! 😻

The kitten population has once again ignored all requests to slow down.

This Friday, June 12 we’ll have 6 adorable kittens looking for homes, including everyone’s favorite old Hollywood gentlemen from last week, Clark and Marlon! ** see last week’s post for their information and pictures**

But wait… there’s more.

We also have 5 wonderful mama cats ready to retire from motherhood and begin the much-deserved chapter of life known as “being spoiled rotten.” 🥰

🐱 Kittens: $125
🐱 Adult Mama Cats: $75

All cats and kittens are:
✔ Spayed/neutered
✔ Vaccinated
✔ Microchipped
✔ FIV/FeLV tested
✔ Flea treated

Whether you’re looking for a tiny tornado of chaos, a professional biscuit maker, or a mama cat who’s finally ready to put herself first for a change, we’ve got someone waiting to meet you.

💕 A Friendly Reminder:
We always encourage everyone to come in and meet the cats and kittens face-to-face rather than getting your heart completely set on one from a photo. Pictures can only tell part of the story. Sometimes the kitten you had your eye on isn’t the one who steals your heart… and sometimes the cat you didn’t notice online is the one who climbs into your lap and decides you’re going home together. You might be surprised who chooses you.

Saturday & Sunday: 12 PM - 4 PM

📍 Adoption Day Rules
• Adoptions are first-come, first-served.
• Numbers will be handed out in the parking lot before we open.
• You must remain on shelter property to keep your place in line.
• If you need to use the restroom, you’re welcome to do so once staff arrives.
• We do not place holds on cats or kittens.
• Please remember that parking lot order determines adoption order.

As Employee Supervisor, I would like everyone to know that I take my responsibilities very seriously.

Unfortunately, my productivity is currently being sabotaged by everyone’s favorite orange floof named Knife, who spends most of the day hanging halfway out of her condo looking absolutely ridiculous.

Every morning I sit down at my desk and tell myself:

“I WILL NOT LOOK TO MY LEFT.”

“I HAVE WORK TO DO.”

“I AM A PROFESSIONAL.”

Three seconds later, I’m taking photo #2,538,472 while she appears to be attempting to process a single thought at maximum capacity.

I have emails to answer.
I have phone calls to return.
I have paperwork to do.

Meanwhile, Knife has spent the last 45 minutes buffering while Whisk heavily judges us in the background.

Please keep us in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Kittens may come and go in the blink of an eye, but adult cats often wait a little longer for someone to see just how wonderful they are.

Today, that someone came for Chad and Quinoa.

Not only did they each find a family, they found one together.

There is something incredibly heartwarming about watching two adult cats leave the shelter side by side and head off to begin their new lives.

We are so excited for these two and so grateful to their adopter for giving them the chance they deserve.

Enjoy your new home, Chad and Quinoa. Your waiting days are officially over. 🏡🐾❤️

When Eliza came back to us after her owner passed away, our hearts broke for her.

She had known love. She had known home. And suddenly, she had lost both.

Today, we get to share the news we've been hoping for...

💜 ELIZA HAS BEEN ADOPTED! 💜

This beautiful girl didn't have to wait long before finding a new family ready to love her just as much as she deserves. Watching her leave in the arms of people who already adore her is the kind of ending rescue dreams are made of.

To her new family: thank you for opening your hearts to a cat who needed one more chance.

And to Eliza: may your days be filled with sunny windows, cozy naps, and all the love in the world.

🎬 DEAN HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

We had been open for approximately three and a half minutes before he said, “Thank you, thank you, you’ve all been wonderful,” and exited stage left.

We’re pretty sure he had this planned from the beginning.

Congratulations to Dean and his new family! ❤️

Meanwhile, his brothers Clark and Marlon are still waiting backstage for their own happy endings. 🐾✨
