One of the very best parts of selling horses is hearing from their new owners and seeing just how loved they are in their new homes.

We recently received the sweetest update from Josie about Knight, and it absolutely made my day!

Josie wrote:

"Thank you again for helping me find my best friend! He brings me and my family so much joy and I love working and growing with him. He has such a kind heart, willing spirit, and intelligent mind."

And apparently Knight has been busy growing in more ways than one! 😂 He's getting taller (much to Josie's dismay when they're riding under trees on the trails!), filling out beautifully, and developing more strength and muscle.

My favorite part of her update?

"He is such a good boy that we all forget that he's only 4."

He's also become quite the barn celebrity, with everyone stopping to visit, give him some love, and tell him how handsome he is. ❤️

We always loved Knight's sweet personality and willing attitude, but seeing those qualities translate into such a wonderful partnership is incredibly rewarding.

At Legacy, our goal isn't just to find horses that ride nicely. It's to develop horses that become cherished partners, trusted friends, and truly special parts of someone's life.

Josie, thank you for giving Knight such a wonderful home and for sharing this update with us. It means more than you know!

Meet Diesel! 🖤 17 hands of handsome!

Another one of our new boys is ready for a little introduction!

Diesel is a 4-year-old Cleveland Bay gelding standing 17hh, and he certainly has the size and presence to get your attention!

I love seeing these big young horses develop. At four years old, there’s still so much strength, balance, and understanding to build, and it’s exciting to watch them start putting the pieces together.

These photos are a little sneak peek at Diesel’s work in the arena as we continue getting to know him and developing his foundation.

Big, handsome, and with so much potential ahead of him! 😍

This is the kind of horse that makes us smile. 🖤

I wanted to share this video of Rip again because I think it shows something far more important than beautiful movement.

Rip is just four years old, and here he is being ridden by 7-year-old Lanie, who is still learning and only rides at the walk and trot.

What I love most about this video is how Rip responds to her.

Lanie was a little nervous at first, and Rip seemed to recognize that. He wasn’t in a hurry to go faster than she was comfortable going. As she relaxed and gained confidence, he happily went forward, and by the end, they looked like they’d been riding together forever. 🥹

That’s the kind of mind you can’t put a price on.

Rip has the natural balance, beautiful movement, and athletic ability to be a really exciting dressage prospect. But seeing him adjust to a young, inexperienced rider tells us just as much about the horse he is becoming.

We want our horses to be talented, absolutely. But we also want them to be thoughtful, forgiving, and enjoyable partners.

Rip is showing us that he has both the talent and the heart. 💙

🌟 **Legacy Alumni Spotlight: Sparrow!** 🌟

Another wonderful update from one of our Legacy alumni!

**Sparrow, now known as Twilight Sparrow, has been keeping busy this summer!** 🐴❤️

His new owner's daughter, Stella, recently took him to the **Camargo Hunter Trials**, where the pair competed in several pole classes and brought home **2nd and 5th place ribbons!** 🏅

But the real victory? Sparrow continued to improve with every class, gaining valuable experience and learning to stay focused in a busy show environment.

His owner shared that they're looking forward to getting him out more over the next year as they continue working on relaxation and building their partnership. And it's hard to believe they've already celebrated a full year together!

We love seeing our Legacy horses thriving in their new homes, especially when they're developing alongside dedicated young riders like Stella.

**Congratulations to Stella and Twilight Sparrow!** We're so proud of their progress and can't wait to see what the next year brings! 🖤🐴

Meet Murphy! 🖤 Big, handsome, and so much fun to ride!

Murphy is one of our newest arrivals, and we’re already loving what he brings to the table.

He’s a big, substantial Friesian/Quarter Horse gelding who gives you that wonderful feeling of having plenty of horse underneath you. But don’t let his size fool you! He’s surprisingly athletic, forward-thinking, and wonderfully light off the leg.

One of my favorite things about Murphy is that you don’t have to work harder than he does. Ask him to go, and he goes. He happily maintains his gait without needing to be reminded every few strides. That’s a quality I really appreciate in a riding horse!

And of course, we love getting our horses out on the trails. It’s such an important part of developing well-rounded horses and giving them experiences beyond the arena.

On the ground, Murphy is just as lovable. He’s sweet, patient, and absolutely loves his snuggles. 🥰

A big, sturdy horse with a light, athletic feel and a heart to match. We’re excited to see how this handsome boy develops!

Big, handsome, and surprisingly light on his feet! 🖤

Here’s Sally riding Murphy in the arena, and he went so nicely for her!

One of the things I love most about Murphy is that he gives you the secure feeling of riding a big, substantial horse without feeling like you’re riding a big, heavy horse.

He’s wonderfully forward and responsive to the leg, and once you ask him for a gait, he happily maintains it without needing to be reminded every few strides. He’s also impressively athletic for his size!

It’s especially fun watching our adult amateur riders work with the horses. We want to develop horses that are not only talented but also enjoyable and straightforward for the people who will actually be riding them.

Murphy is a 9 year-old Friesian/Quarter Horse cross, and we’re really enjoying getting to know him. He’s been just as sweet and patient on the ground as he is fun to ride, and he absolutely loves his snuggles. 🥰

Substance, athleticism, a light ride, and a sweetheart of a personality. Murphy is a pretty special combination! 💙

Talented enough to dream big with. Sweet enough to make every day fun. 🖤

Meet Rip, our handsome 4-year-old Turbo Friesian gelding!

Rip is one of those young horses who makes you excited about the future. He has so many of the qualities we love to see in a developing dressage horse—natural balance, a beautiful floaty trot, an incredibly smooth canter, and a genuinely willing attitude.

What makes Rip especially fun is how naturally everything seems to come to him. He's still developing his strength and education, but he already has a lovely feel under saddle. He's thoughtful, responsive, and always trying to understand what his rider is asking.

And his personality? 😂

Rip is goofy, curious, affectionate, and convinced that anything new deserves a closer inspection. He's the kind of horse who makes you smile before you even get on.

He's also gaining valuable experience outside the arena, enjoying the trails and learning to confidently navigate new situations.

At just four years old, Rip has a wonderful foundation and so much potential ahead of him. We think he's going to make someone a really special partner, whether their goals include dressage competition, trail riding, or simply enjoying the journey of developing a talented young horse.

Sometimes it’s the little things that tell you the most about a horse. 🖤

Here’s Sally opening a gate from Zeer’s back—and she really had to stretch to reach it! 😂

That meant leaning way forward, shifting her weight, and reaching out of her normal riding position.

And Zeer? She just stood there like a good girl and waited patiently. 💙

We love moments like this because they’re such a great example of the qualities that make a horse enjoyable to ride. It’s not always about beautiful movement or fancy dressage work. Sometimes it’s simply about having a horse who stays relaxed and cooperative when her rider needs to do something a little unusual.

Zeer continues to show us what a sweet, consistent, and straightforward mare she is. She’s still developing her strength and education, but we’re really enjoying getting to know her!

Pretty is wonderful. A good mind makes it even better. 🥰

Rider spots are SOLD OUT! 🎉 But you can still join us!

We’re officially full for riding spots for our December 21st clinic with Suzanne Galdun, but we still have space available for auditors.

And if you’ve never audited one of Suzanne’s clinics, hers are especially worth watching.

Because Suzanne teaches through biomechanics, there is so much to learn from watching her work with different horses and riders. You get to see how changes in the rider’s position, balance, timing, and use of their body affect the horse—and often the transformation happens right in front of you.

Sometimes it’s actually easier to understand what she’s teaching when you can sit back and watch it happen to someone else. 💡
