PET FOOD PANTRY

Do you have food your pet won't eat and you want to give back to the local community? We are now stocking a food pantry for pets who otherwise would go without food. Sadly, many folks are struggling with low income and struggling to feed their beloved fur-babies. Feel free to bring in donated non-prescription in-date pet food to us any time, and we'll make sure it finds a good home.

Alachua County Animal Resources needs your help fostering!

Fostering a dog or cat helps 2 animals! It helps the animal you foster get accustomed to being in a home again, and helps out the next animal by giving them an open space at the shelter.
Our county shelter is a no-kill, which is great, but this means they often have full cages, and this prevents the next stray pet from being rescued.

If you or anyone you know is missing a dog, please have them contact our office ASAP at 352-466-0067. This sweet dog was found wandering 441 in Micanopy this morning.

We will ask you to provide a physical description and photographs of your missing dog to confirm this is the same pet. For safety reasons, we will not share a photo on Facebook.

We are without power.

Attention all Cytopoint users!

We will be discontinuing Cytopoint to bring in a longer-lasting monoclonal antibody called Befrena, made by Elanco. Befrena has been shown to work for up to 6-8 weeks in the average dog, rather than Cytopoint which typically only controls the itch for 4 weeks. Befrena also starts working within the first 24 hours. Befrena is extremely safe, just as Cytopoint is, and our hope is with a longer-lasting injection at the same cost as Cytopoint, we will be able to control the itch longer and at a better rate for our clients and furry friends.
