We have a senior kitty looking for a new home. Meet Freedom. Freedom is about 12 years old, very sweet and shy indoor cat.

Freedom came from a good friend of ours, who recently went into assisted living and could not bring Freedom with her. She is spayed, and current on vaccines and bloodwork and parasite control.

Freedom loves to be brushed, treats, and a comfy place to lay. Freedom has experience with other senior animals, and would like housemates that give her space to be her introverted self.

We are hoping to place Freedom in a calm indoor environment. Please contact us at 352-466-0067 if you are interested.

It is with the heaviest hearts that we share the passing of our beloved dinosaur, Elliot.

Elliot has been a pillar of Micanopy Animal Hospital for the past 10 years. You likely met him when you wandered over to his terrarium in the lobby, asking, "What's in here?"

He loved lounging on his hammock and basking on his rocks; he loved running amok in our dentistry suite. He loved mealworms, blueberries, and peppers. Elliot monitored the front desk with an iron fist (or claw), but he was also sweet and gentle up until the end.

Over the past month, our team noticed Elliot was not himself; despite intense supportive care, he was not improving. With the help of UF Small Animal Hospital's ZooMed department, he was unfortunately diagnosed with gastric carcinoma, a common ailment in our beardie friends. Elliot passed away on September 2nd, 2026, surrounded by many people who loved and cared for him over the years.

We will miss you deeply, Elliot.

PET FOOD PANTRY

Do you have food your pet won't eat and you want to give back to the local community? We are now stocking a food pantry for pets who otherwise would go without food. Sadly, many folks are struggling with low income and struggling to feed their beloved fur-babies. Feel free to bring in donated non-prescription in-date pet food to us any time, and we'll make sure it finds a good home.

*Limitations on expired food and prescription foods*
