The sweetness of this picture, and the significance to me, makes my heart and soul happy…

JK was always ”my girL” from the moment I first saw her at a few weeks old, just before we lost my mother who was also her breeder.

She was the sweetest, gentlest soul as a junior mare until another mare decided “the princess” needed to be put in her place and was so aggressive, JK learned a bad lesson. For several years, she became the bully of any group she was in - better to get them before they got her! It broke my heart. When she rejected her first foal I was heartbroken again. I just knew she would be a great mother, so I let her foal again this year.

We have finally been vindicated - as she adores her 2026 filly and is getting along with the other mares and foals… Pictured with her are Muffin, her daughter (chestnut) and Louie (bay c**t) with Gypsy off camera to Louie’s right and the other 2 mares behind her. I wasnt there, so she wasnt being “good” for me. Just a morning in the life… My heart is full

At just under 36 hours old, he is already a lover 💙 I think we have settled on his barn name - stay tuned!
