It’s estimated that about 80% of dogs over the age of 3 have early signs of dental disease - that’s the majority of older dogs!
‌
In this short video brought to you by Crufts on Channel 4, I chat with Sophie Morgan and share how the simplest home dental care activity - daily toothbrushing - can protect your dog’s teeth and prevent gum disease.
‌
You’ll also see one of the latest innovations in dog dental care: the ultrasonic toothbrush, with Dante the dog demonstrating beautifully how a few moments of home dental care can be calm and comfortable for canines!
‌
My top tips include:
‌
⭐️Get into the habit of daily home toothbrushing for your dog.
⭐️Build up teeth cleaning by slowly extending the amount of time spent on it from approx 30 seconds to 2 minutes, to allow your dog to get used to it.
⭐️How using new products like an ultrasonic toothbrush can make brushing more effective.
⭐️How vibration and sound-free products make it possible to clean your dog's teeth in a way that’s calm and comfortable for both of you.
‌
Gum disease treatment and dental procedures for dogs can make for expensive vet visits, so please take a moment to watch the video and find out why doggy dental care at home can be money-saving and tooth-saving at the same time.
