School buses should have ONE designated stop per neighborhood instead of stopping in front of every kid’s house.

There. I said it.

Pick one safe spot.

Drop everybody off.

Then they can walk the rest of the way home.

Because stopping traffic every couple hundred feet so one person can hop off at a time makes absolutely no sense to me.

When did the school bus become door-to-door transportation??

Obviously younger kids or anyone who genuinely needs additional assistance can be handled differently.

But everybody else?

If you live three houses down, WALK.

We have entire neighborhoods full of sidewalks for a reason.

One stop could unload multiple students at once, the bus could keep moving, and traffic wouldn’t have to stop six different times traveling down the same road.

Everybody gets home.

Everybody stays safe.

And the entire road doesn’t become a bus route obstacle course.

ONE NEIGHBORHOOD. ONE BUS STOP. WALK HOME.

Do you remember when you didn’t need a group chat to make plans for the night? Back in ’87, you just found your friends and figured out where everyone was headed. A couple of coolers went into the back of a pickup truck, someone brought the boombox, and before long you were parked somewhere out by the lake, down a dirt road, or deep in the woods. Then somebody got the fire going. There were no status updates, no scrolling, no checking who was online, and nobody was worried about getting the perfect picture. We were looking at each other, not our phones. We talked for hours, laughed until our sides hurt, listened to music, told stories, and enjoyed being around the people we actually came to see. There was nothing fancy about those nights. Just old trucks, good friends, a crackling fire, and an entire night ahead of you. Looking back, maybe that’s what made them so unforgettable. Who was always part of your crew for nights like this?

If I put my trash cans on the DAMN GRASS, put them back on the grass when you’re finished emptying them…

Before I left this morning, I specifically moved BOTH cans along the grass so my driveway would be completely clear when I got home.

I come back and what do I see?

One of them sitting right in the middle of my driveway.

Now I have to stop my car, get out, move the trash can, get BACK in my car and then pull in behind the other vehicle.

Why??

You already had to grab the can to empty it.

Just put it back where you found it.

I’m not asking you to bring it to my house.

I’m not asking you to wash it.

Just don’t take something that was OUT of my way and leave it directly IN my way.

EMPTY THE CAN. PUT IT BACK. Common sense really.

Who else was driving a tractor long before they were old enough to legally drive a car? Growing up on a farm in the ’60s and ’70s, you didn't wait until you were grown to start helping out. When planting or harvest season came around, everybody had a job. By the time you were 10, you might already be sitting behind the wheel of that old tractor, learning the rows while Dad or Grandpa watched from nearby. You learned responsibility early. You learned how to work, how to take care of the land, and how to keep going when the job wasn't finished. There weren't smartphones, GPS, or fancy equipment telling you what to do. Just a tractor, a dusty field, the smell of fresh-turned soil, and a long day of work ahead. And when the sun finally started going down, you knew you'd earned your supper. What was the first farm chore you were trusted to do on your own?
