Every surgery starts long before the first incision. It starts with a veterinary technician who has spent years mastering their skills, anticipating needs, monitoring vitals, and showing up fully prepared for every patient who comes through the door.

Vet techs are the heart of every OR team, and their skill and dedication make a difference every single day. At some VCA specialty hospitals, we take surgical collaboration even further. 🦉 A second chance to take flight. ❤️

This beautiful wild owl recently underwent wing surgery performed by Dr. Harris, giving it the opportunity to heal and, hopefully, return to where it belongs—the wild.

We were honored to partner with Lloyd Brown of Wildlife Rescue of Miami-Dade County, whose dedication to rescuing, rehabilitating, and advocating for Florida’s native wildlife makes stories like this possible.

Every patient matters—whether they have paws, feathers, or scales. Thank you to everyone involved in giving this incredible owl another chance.

Wishing this feathered friend a smooth recovery and a successful release back into its natural habitat! 🦉💚
