🦷🐶 NEW RESEARCH IS CATCHING UP TO SOMETHING WE’VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT FOR YEARS…
Dental wellness is about MORE than making your dog’s breath smell better.
Your dog has an oral microbiome, just like they have a gut microbiome. And researchers are now looking more closely at the role beneficial bacteria may play in supporting a healthier mouth.
A new 2026 randomized pilot study followed dogs after professional dental cleanings. After 8 weeks, the dogs receiving a specific probiotic preparation had significantly better plaque, tartar and gum-bleeding scores than the dogs who didn’t receive it. 🦷🔬
Now here’s what REALLY caught my attention…
For years, probiotics have already been part of the dental treats WE use. 👀
Our Gourmet Dental Treats contain fermentation products from four probiotic species, including Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus casei.
Does this new study prove our dental treats produce those same results?
No. Different probiotic preparation, different protocol.
But I LOVE seeing researchers continue to explore the connection between beneficial bacteria, the oral microbiome and dental wellness.
Because around here, we don’t wait until there’s a problem to start thinking about teeth.
We have a simple 5-part routine that includes:
🥣 What goes in the bowl
🐾 Daily nutritional support
🦷 Dental treats
🦴 Chewing
✨ Additional oral support
