Foreign body alert-Graphic content 🚨. ⚠️Warning this post contains graphic Veterinary medical images, including an intestinal obstruction and a foreign body removed during surgery view discretion advice. We recently had a patient come to us after experiencing vomiting and refusing to eat at first the cause wasn’t obvious. Foreign body especially plastic or rubber can be difficult to see clearly on x-rays. Dr. Moreno suspected a foreign body, despite the owner being unsure if the pub had swallowed anything they explained he normally doesn’t pick things up from the ground so they had no reason to suspect he had eaten something unusual. Because of the symptoms and doctor concern surgery was performed today and we found the culprit a bouncy ball, the ball was not going to pass on its own and could’ve caused a serious intestinal obstruction thankfully, we were able to remove it successfully, and our patient is now doing much better and recovering. 🩺 swipe through the carousel to learn more:

If your pet is vomiting, refusing food, acting painful, become lethargic or experiencing changes in bowel movements contact your veterinarian as soon as possible
