Appreciation post for a special dog named Champ...
Champ came to us in November of 2017 as a puppy. He was the the only survivor from his litter. He became extremely ill and was so anemic that he shouldn't have even beed alive!
Champ had a condition called Immune Medicated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA). This condition is caused by the immune system mistakingly attacking the red blood cells and causing hemolysis (rupturing of the red blood cells). But Champ was such a fighter and never gave up. He received a blood transfusion and a few days later, he started eating and playing.
We are so happy he is living his best life with his loving family that adores him.
