Unfortunately, scams are on the rise and they are now targeting owners of missing pets. Owners may receive a call or text from a lost pet ad from someone pretending to be a veterinary hospital, claiming that they have found their missing pet and they require urgent treatment. These scammers will demand payment for the pet to be treated.
Should this happen to you, you should call the veterinarian directly to confirm whether they have your pet before sending any kind of payment.
