Hi, I’m Kenzo. 🐾

A few weeks ago, my story almost ended before it really had a chance to begin. I was found collapsed on the levee in pretty rough shape. A kind lady and two wonderful levee officers made sure I got to Dr. Sagrera, and they’ve all helped give me a second chance.

Since then, I’ve been patched up, neutered, bathed, and fed lots of good food…I’m as good as new!

I’m about 2–3 years old and weigh 101 pounds. They say I’m still a little thin, but I’m working on that. Apparently I’m what they call a “gentle giant,” and I kind of like the sound of that.

Here’s a little about me:�🐾 I love kids.�🐾 I get along great with other dogs of all sizes (even when the little ones yell at me).�🐾 So far, I’ve been very respectful of cats.�🐾 Car rides are one of my favorite things.�🐾 Walks make me happy, and I have excellent leash manners.�🐾 I’m fully housetrained.�🐾 I’ve been to the dog park and had a great time.�🐾 I even went to a busy festival full of dogs, kids, music, and noise—and everyone said I was the best behaved and most handsome dog there!

My favorite place is wherever my people are. I don’t ask for much…just to be part of the family. Thunder is a little scary, but if I’m with you, I’m okay. If I’m alone, I usually just find a quiet place to hide until it’s over.

I do have heartworms, but don’t let that scare you away. I don’t have any symptoms, and Dr. Sagrera will provide the treatment I need. My tummy can be a little sensitive too, so I’m on a strict diet while it continues to heal, and I’m doing better every day.

I’ve already survived the hardest part of my journey. Now all I need is someone to love me forever.

If you’ve been looking for a loyal best friend, a walking buddy, a car ride companion, and a big fluffy shadow who just wants to be near you… I think we should meet.

🇺🇸🐾 Holiday Schedule Update 🐾🇺🇸

In observance of the Fourth of July holiday, our Saturday schedule will be adjusted:

📅 Closed: Saturday, June 27
📅 Closed: Saturday, July 4
📅 Open: Saturday, July 11

Our regular business hours on all other days will remain the same.

As you prepare for the holiday, don't forget your pets! Fireworks and celebrations can be stressful for many animals. Stop by before the holiday to stock up on any food, treats, calming supplements, medications, or other supplies your pet may need to stay safe and comfortable.

🚨 Still Looking for a Home (or Foster) for This Sweet Boy! 🚨

One of our clients found him collapsed on the levee and, with the help of two Good Samaritan police officers, got him safely to us. After some much-needed rest and recovery, he's doing great and is ready for the next chapter of his life.

Dr. Sagrera estimates he's about 3–4 years old and approximately 85 pounds. Since coming into our care, he has been neutered and fully recovered. We believe he is an Akita.

He is incredibly sweet, house-trained, and clearly has been someone's beloved pet. His favorite thing is simply being around people. He gets along well with other dogs and kids. He does enjoy chasing cats, so a cat-free home would be best. He can be a little fearful during thunderstorms and would love a calm, reassuring environment.

We would love to find him a forever home, but right now we are also urgently looking for a temporary foster, even if it's just for a few nights. During the day, he could stay at Natural Pet Care, so we're mainly looking for someone who can give him a comfortable place to sleep and relax at night.

At the moment, he spends much of his time in an exam room or kennel, and we'd love to give him a break from that while we continue searching for the perfect home.

We are still looking for a home for this guy!

One of our clients found him collapsed on the levee on Monday and with the help of two Good Samaritan police officers got him to us. Now that he has recovered from all that running, he’s doing great and ready to go a home!

He is not chipped and has no ID. Dr. Sagrera thinks he’s somewhere between 3 and 4 years old, and he is unneutered. We think he’s an Akita mix. Super sweet, house trained and obviously has been someone’s beloved pet. He does enjoy chasing cats but is great with other dogs. Not aggressive at all.

Please share this so that we can find him a soft place to land! If you are willing to foster him, please let us know. Right now we have to keep him in an exam room or in a cage for the majority of the time. Even a temporary foster would be wonderful!
